Paper Craft Crew DT Badge

Hello again, stamping friend!  Welcome back to another challenge with the Paper Craft Crew 🙂

This week we have an awesome colour challenge for you; you choose 3 of the 4 colours listed, and you can use any neutral as your ‘freebie’:

PCCCS190

These are really similar to the ones I used yesterday in the Watercooler Wednesday challenge, aren’t they?  I had to keep double checking the colours when I was creating the cards, so that I didn’t get them mixed up!  Well, you know what they say – ‘great minds think alike’; I guess that goes for great challenges, too 🙂

The 3 colours I chose were Tempting Turquoise, Cucumber Crush and Crushed Curry.  My neutral is Whisper White.

PCCCS190 a nice cuppa

As you can see, I’m still enjoying my A Nice Cuppa stamp set, and it’s coordinating Cups & Kettle Framelits Dies 🙂   Mother’s Day is coming up next month, and since I’ve already jumped ahead and got the gift ordered, I thought I’d get the card ready, too!

I started with a card base of Cucumber Crush cardstock, and layered a piece of the Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper on the bottom 1/2 of the base.  I then added a panel of Whisper White cardstock to the top, after first stamping the cute little hearts from the A Nice Cuppa set, in Tempting Turquoise.

I stamped the flowers in Crushed Curry and Tempting Turquoise using the Petite Petals stamp set, and used the coordinating Petite Petals Punch to punch them out. For the leaves, I used the Bird Builder Punch and Cucumber Crush cardstock. The cup was die cut from Cucumber Crush, the heart from Tempting Turquoise, the scallop design from Crushed Curry, all die cut using the Cups & Kettle Framelits. The lemon wedge was stamped in Crushed Curry ink onto the same colour cardstock, and cut by hand.

I used a Sponge Dauber and Cucumber Crush ink to sponge the edges of the cup, to give it a bit more dimension, and I added the scallop design to the cup using the Fine Tip Glue Pen – perfect for these skinny pieces!  I attached the flowers, lemon wedge and heart using Stampin’ Dimensionals, and then tucked in the leaves, attaching them using Tombow liquid glue.

Finally, the sentiment was stamped on Whisper White in Tempting Turquoise ink; it and the layer behind it were die cut using my favourite Tags & Labels Framelits.

I think this card is perfect for the flower loving, tea drinker that is my step-mom 🙂   (she doesn’t follow my blog, so I don’t think I’m spoiling anything; but just in case, I’m not going to say what I got her as a gift!)

Now, I hope you’ll check out what the rest of the Design Team have created for your inspiration; head on over to the Paper Craft Crew page, then create your own project, and link up for the challenge!  Did you know – you don’t have to have a blog, in order to join a challenge!  You can link  your card to your Pinterest page, or to your Facebook page, or any photo hosting site that we, the team can visit, and leave a comment for you.

I do hope I’ll see your card!

Until next time – happy stamping!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
