A Different Look With Quietude Stamp

A few days ago, I shared a card created with the Penny Black Quietude stamp. In that post HERE, I mentioned that this wonderful stamp can be used year-round, just by changing up the colours. So I thought I’d share this different look with the Quietude stamp today!

SUMMER QUIETUDE

However you colour it, this scene is still beautiful! This time I created a more summery look with greens, and a summer morning sky.

I’d like to be sitting on this lakeside, seeing the sun come up!

CARD DETAILS

I again  used watercolour paper, and set up the stamp and paper in my MISTI. I do this so that I can stamp in multiple colours, multiple times without having to worry about lining up the image. Start with the trees, and ink them up in Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide. Next, add Mowed Lawn, with is a darker green. Use a water brush or small paint brush to blend the colours.  Use the same combination of greens for the grasses growing in the right forefront. The ground is inked in Tea Dye, and blended a bit with the water brush.

To colour the yellow & orange sky, press the Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed ink pads onto your craft pad. Pick up the ink with a wet water brush, and blend them onto the sky, and create the reflection in the water. Use the same technique with Salty Ocean ink for the water, and sky.  Finally, stamp the birds in a dark blue or black.  Add the sentiment strip using the Studio Katia Peony Trimmings stamp set with coordinating dies.

SUPPLIES

What colours would you choose to use to create a different look with the Quietude stamp? To change the look up even more, you could make the ‘lake’ a meadow, and add small flowers! However you’d like to create the scene, have fun doing it.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
