The Grinch is one of those iconic symbols of Christmas, from the story books. I think that he’s almost universally recognized! So even though I’ve only used his hand, you know who it is. I’ve had this stamp set from Gina Marie Designs for a few years, but have only used it a couple of times. The most important part, of course, is the statement. That’s when we know that the Grinch has learned the true meaning of Christmas.
DOESN’T COME FROM A STORE
Whether you’re able to purchase gifts, create them yourself, or give the gift of time and love, the feeling behind it is most important.
Some of the additions are what make this card go from simple to oh, wow!
THE DETAILS
First, I decided to make this a slimline card to give lots of room for the bauble holding hand, and the sentiment. But I wanted those elements to remain the focus, so I kept the added touches small. For example, the stamped sentiment is heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then, it’s popped up on bright green glitter paper.
Another extra is the white fluff on the Grinch’s Santa coat sleeve. The Hero Arts White Puff Embossing Powder is perfect to add 3D dimension! Cover the area with Versamark, add the embossing powder, and it puffs up when heat set! Loads of fun! Finally, add some holly leaves & berries from the Photo Play Jolly Old St. Nick stamp set & matching dies.
Copic Markers are perfect for colouring this image, stamped with Nocturne ink. I chose YG25 Celadon Green, YG07 Acid Green and R29 Lipstick Red. The white highlights are added with a .7mm Posca Paint Pen in white.
