A HOT CHOCOLATE KIND OF DAY
Hello stamping friend! Well, here on the west coast we’re having most unusual weather – SNOW! I mean, lots of snow, for us! Yes, Vancouver has one of the best ranked ski mountains in the world – and that’s where the snow belongs. But down here, in the city, we’re not used to getting more than a couple of centimeters. But it basically hasn’t stopped snowing since Sunday! I’m writing this post on Tuesday, and the forecast is predicting another 25cm for today. So – it’s a hot chocolate kind of day! I’m staying inside, curled up with my stamping supplies.
COZY FOX
I chose the image from the Winter Fox stamp set by Lawn Fawn. I just love foxes – I’d love to see one in real life! I added the sentiment from the But First, Coffee stamp set by Echo Park. It made the perfect combination, I think!
Doesn’t the fox look so content, curled up the a nice warm cup of hot chocolate?
CARD FRONT DETAILS
After placing the white cardstock into my stamp platform, I lined up the sentiment and image. I knew I wanted them close together, so I was making sure they fit. After doing that, I inked up the sentiment in Soft Suede Stampin’ Up! classic ink. I stamped it twice, for a nice, dark, clear image.
Next, I removed the sentiment stamp, and stamped the fox image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used this ink because it’s safe to use with alcohol markers.
After colouring in the image, I added a wash of light gray ink, to ground the fox.
LAYERING IT UP
Next, I added the stamped panel to a dark orange panel of cardstock. I purposely layered it against the left edge, leaving a small margin at the bottom. These panels were then layered onto a cardstock base of dark brown.
To finish off the card front, I added some dark orange enamel dots from my stash. It’s amazing what I find, when I start digging through stuff! Is your craft stash like that – a treasure trove of forgotten items?

Sweet! Love that cute little fox. And even though it’s warmer here, it feels colder to me. I think it’s the “damp.” Hope your snow ends soon.
I just can’t refuse a stamp set of a cute fox! I’m glad you like it too, Buffy. Stay warm & safe!
I am going to send all my snow to you, Deborah! I have had enough of winter. That fox is so cute. We have one running around here, where I live. He is cute but I stay as far away as i can!
No more snow, thanks Susan! Our forecast is that we’ll be getting more tomorrow (and I really don’t want any more. The fun is gone). You’re welcome to come have a hot chocolate with me & the fox any time, though! 🙂
