ANOTHER ALTERNATE PAPER PUMPKIN CARD
Welcome to a new week, stamping friend! I hope you had a good weekend. As I’m writing this, it’s Sunday and I’ve had to pause in the midst of putting up our Christmas tree, because the top string of bulbs is not working. It’s one of those fake trees, with the lights already strung. Whatever happened to ‘if one bulb burns out, the rest will stay lit’?? Seriously! Now, my son is driving around town, going from store to store, trying to find replacement bulbs for a tree that we’ve had for years. Anyone want to take bets on how much luck he’s having? Well, save your money – he hasn’t been able to find any! So now, I’ve asked him to pick up a small strand of lights, and I’ll just put them over top of the ones that aren’t working. Sheesh! So, when he gets back I’ll pause to finish the tree….But now, I’d like to share another alternate Paper Pumpkin card I made using the November kit!
DASHING DEER MEETS PAPER PUMPKIN
Last week, I had shared THIS CARD I made using parts of this same Paper Pumpkin kit. So I decided to use up the pieces of paper that I had already cut into. No waste for a paper crafter! By the way – if the story about my Christmas tree is enough of a hint as to how things are going for me lately….The card I made last week (link above) I had made for both the Paper Craft Crew and Paper Players challenges. Well, I linked it to the Paper Craft Crew challenge – because I”m on the design team – but I totally forgot to link it to the Paper Players challenge! *smacks forehead* Seriously – some days I wonder about myself… But I digress; let’s get back to the new alternate Paper Pumpkin card.
Once I had the idea for the layout in my mind, the card came together very quickly!
CARD FRONT DETAILS
The only extra pieces I added to the Paper Pumpkin kit supplies are the Cherry Cobbler pieces, the sentiment banner, and the die cut Dashing Deer.
Cut the panel of Cherry Cobbler cardstock to go behind the piece of plaid paper from the kit. Die cut a scalloped circle with the Big Shot, the Layering Circles Framelits and Cherry Cobbler cardstock. Attach the die cut wood-look paper sticker to the middle of the scalloped circle.
Stamp the sentiment onto a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock in Cherry Cobbler ink. The sentiment is from the stamps that come with the kit. Add a thinner strip of Cherry Cobbler cardstock behind the sentiment, giving both a banner tail, with the Banner Triple Punch.
Use the Big Shot with the Detailed Deer thinlits and Gold Foil Paper to die cut the deer. Attach 2 of the pine sprigs from the P.P. Kit onto the circle with glue, then add the deer on top, with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finish off your card front by adding 3 of the gold sequins, from the kit.
DON’T WASTE ANY PAPER!
Since I had used both patterns of paper in last week’s card, I decided to use up both of those pieces left over. So, I made the same card again, just using the Cherry Cobbler plaid paper!
I kept everything exactly the same – just used the different plaid paper.
WHICH ONE DO YOU LIKE?
Here are the two cards together – do you have a favourite plaid?
I think I like them both the same! Maybe I”m a bit partial to the one on the right….Hopefully whoever receives either one, will like them.
