Hello again, stamping friend!
Well, this week a great number of my demonstrator friends are at the annual Stampin’ Up! convention, titled On Stage! I wasn’t able to go, but I am having fun watching friends post pictures on their Facebook pages, and streaming on Periscope 🙂 Of course, everyone is sworn to secrecy, so there’s no spoilers being share, but it is a lot of fun to see my friends having a great time, showing off their cards they’re swapping, and some of the non-product related fun.
If you’re interested in seeing some of the Periscope video, create yourself an account, search for SUDSOL, and follow them! You may still be able to view some of the video that has already streamed, but if you ‘follow’ them, you will get alerts when they start to live stream again.
This is a picture that a wonderful demo friend Kathy Brown Kartak posted – yesterday there was a live band on stage, warming up the crowd before the SU! team came on:
Do you think there’s any hints as to what the new In Colours might be, looking at the On Stage banner?! 😉 Part of this was live streamed, and you should have heard the ‘whoo hoos’ and ‘woopies’!
So, since I’m not at On Stage, I’ve been creating cards for next week’s challenges with the Paper Craft Crew and Watercooler Wednesdays design teams; you know, there’s still time to join in the current challenges! Just click on the names, and I’ve linked them to the challenge pages. Create your card, and maybe you’ll be one of the winners! 🙂
But since I can’t share those with you yet, I thought I’d share the other fancy fold card that we did in my last Technique club meeting;
Isn’t this cute? It’s called a Diagonal Gatefold card – diagonal because of how the top is cut. Yes, I did use 2 Sale-A-Bration stamp sets; Perfect Pairings for the Happy Birthday sentiment, and the Botanicals for You for inside, and the flowers. The Designer Series Paper is the fun It’s My Party paper stack; there are so many fun, bright patterns in this stack – just looking at it makes me smile 🙂 For the cardstock I used Crushed Curry and Whisper White; the ink is Melon Mambo, Mint Macaron and Crushed Curry. I used the retired Labels Framelits to die cut the sentiment and the layer behind it. To hold the card closed, I used one of the Botanicals Garden Jewels to the bottom right of the sentiment – it fits right in with all those little flowers, doesn’t it?
Here is what the card looks like, when opened.
Isn’t this fun? By cutting the top two corners of the DSP, then reversing them and gluing them to the bottom front, you can see both of the patterns on this sheet, and it creates sort of a chevron effect, when you look at the card closed.
I hope you liked this card; I’d love to read any comment you’d care to leave 🙂
Don’t forget – there’s only a few more days left of the FINAL WEEKLY DEALS – and there are great deals! The Retiring Products Lists will be out on Monday, so be sure to check back here then – but don’t wait until then, if you want any of the retiring In Colours products, because they’ll be gone first!
Have a great day! Until next time – happy stamping!
