Well, I couldn’t stop at just one attempt at a watercolour painting! Today I have another weather watercolour painting, with Brusho Crystal Colours.  This one is all my own – no tutorial involved! It is another waterside setting, as was yesterday’s.

This weather painting depicts a storm coming in, which is quite often at this time of the year. The sky gets very dark and ominous, the wind picks up, and rain starts to fall.

Another Weather Watercolour

My trees in this one aren’t quite as good as my tree in yesterday’s painting!

The Brusho colours I used in this painting are Prussian Blue, Ultramarine, Sandstone and Dark Brown. For the darkest underside of the clouds, I mixed a touch of Gray with the Prussian Blue.  Before painting, I used a wax crayon for a resist, to create the rain. I didn’t do quite enough, so after the paint was dry, I added more rain using a white fine tip gel pen.

To create the breaks in the sky, I used the side of my brush (learnt from Joanne’s tutorial!) to ‘push’ the paint onto the paper, so that it left gaps.

Here’s another look at this weather watercolour, this time with a black mat on it.

Sometimes just placing a mat over your painting can change how it looks, or where your eye focuses. This can be helpful to do during the painting process, as well.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

    1. It’s been very rainy & stormy here, so the inspiration was close at hand! I’m glad that you enjoyed this painting, Buffy 🙂

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
