Stampin’ Up! sells the fabulous Big Shot, which is an embossing and die cutting tool made by Sizzix.  One of the great things about purchasing your Big Shot through Stampin’ Up! is that it comes with a no hassle 3 year warranty.  Not all the ‘big box’ stores can offer you that!  Plus, Sizzix has partnered with Stampin’ Up! to make exclusive dies, and not only that – you get me as your demonstrator to show you all the great ways to use it!!

Yesterday I posted the Garden Decor stakes I made using aluminum and copper, which I die-cut and embossed with the Big Shot.  Here are some glass Votive Candle Holders that I’ve embellished by die cutting aluminum flashing tape again with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die.   Can you tell that I’m in love with the butterflies?!
These are super-easy to make – the aluminum flashing tape comes with a self-adhesive backing so you just stick you butterflies onto your votive holder – which I purchased at the dollar store for only $1 each!  How’s that for a quick but beautiful decor item that you could proudly display in your home, or give to a friend!

Here they are:

Here’s the recipe again:
Tools: Big Shot Die Cutting Machine Item#113439 $122.95, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die Item#118138 $14.95
Non-Stampin’ Up!: Aluminum Flashing Tape (Home Depot), Votive holder (Dollar store), Candles

There are endless ways to use your Big Shot – do you know it can cut over 50 types of materials? – and Stampin’ Up! is coming out with new dies and embossing folders all the time.

If you’re interested in seeing a Big Shot in action, give me a call or email, or leave a comment, to set up a time to get together!  If you’d like to go ahead and order one, just click on the ‘Shop Here’ button, which will take you to my on-line store, open 24/7!   By the way – here’s a reminder – with the Sale-a-bration going on until March 31st, if you were to order a Big Shot, you would get to choose 2 FREE ITEMS from the Sale-a-bration catalogue!!  And who doesn’t like free stuff?!

See you tomorrow – until then,
Happy Stamping!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

  2. Hi Deb,
Wow, wow, wow!! I have never seen such a great use of the Big Shot! If it wasn’t snowing I would totally be running to Home Depot right now!!

So, the tape must be thinner than aluminum flashing or soda cans, right? I will have to see which Embosslits I have. You just keep giving me more reasons to love SU! Thanks for sharing so many great ideas!!

    1. I’m glad you like them, Laura; they’re so fun to make, too! Yes, the flashing tape is a lot thinner…I found it at Home Depot, in the ‘gutter’ aisle, where they sell the aluminum flashing and gutter troughs. Have fun – I’d love to see what you make!

    1. I’m so happy to hear that you like the ideas! I found the flashing tape (and aluminum flashing sheet) at my Home Depot store. I’d love to see what you create; I can have you as a special creative guest on my blog!
