AS SNUG AS A FOX
You may recall that recently I posted about some amazing stamps that I had ordered from Lesia Zgharda Design, in Ukraine. They are wonderfully detailed stamps! Today I’m sharing the adorable sleeping fox image. He’s so cute & curled up -I wish I could sleep like that, as snug as a fox!
COLOURED PENCIL FOX
Once again, I used my Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils for colouring. I’m still learning, so please bear with me with my imperfect projects. One day, we’ll all look back at these and have a good laugh! (I hope!)
Doesn’t this fox look so snug, and content? As someone who suffers from insomnia, I can only imagine being this content and asleep!
CARD DETAILS
I chose to use a light beige cardstock to stamp on, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. After stamping the image, first I coloured in the areas that I wanted white, and highlights. The pencil colours used are Pompeian Red, Cadmium Red and Dinkelrol Dark Red. I added some green and yellow to the grass beneath the fox. What you just read was a very short description of about an hour’s worth of colouring! I’ve learned to start out light, then go back and add more colour, then blend, then add the darker shades, and then go back and blend again! And again.
Since I didn’t want anything disturbing this cute fox, I left the bottom of the card clean. I used a Stampin’ Up! set called Colorful Seasons to stamp the flowering branches above the fox. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink onto dark brown cardstock, and the heat embossed with white embossing powder.
The sentiment is added with foam tape, and the front panel layered with foam tape onto a dark brown panel. I chose a bright red card base.
I know the mouth is stamped that way, but I’m pretty sure this fox is smiling in his sleep!
