Barn Door Bundle

Yes stamper, I’m back with another ‘Must Have’ – the Barn Door Bundle! Do you love interactive cards? Cards with parts that move? Then this Bundle is definitely for you 🙂

The Barn Door Bundle includes the Barn Door stamp set and the Sliding Door Framelits Dies – at a 10% savings! The door and it’s coordinating stamps are super cute on their own, but adding some movement and die cut accessories = WOW!

Here’s what you get with the Bundle.

There are dies to cut the wreath flowers as a whole, or each separately; even a die for the door handle! Use with the track cutting die and washers, and your door will actually slide!

Stampin’ Up! has created a video on how to use the slider; it’s very helpful to watch when you’re putting it together for the first time.

SLIDING BARN DOOR VIDEO

Too cute, or what? Of course I had to make a sample for my Sale-A-Bration Celebration a couple of weekends ago, so everyone could see how cute it is in person. Here is what I created.

BARN DOOR CLOSED

Barn Door Bundle

This is my card front, with the door slid ‘closed’.  You can read the outside/first sentiment on the left.

DETAILS

My card base is created of Pool Party cardstock. The panel on top is also Pool Party, embossed with the Big Shot and Seaside Embossing Folder. Die cut the tracks for the door using the Big Shot and Sliding Door Framelits Dies.

Next, stamp the door image in Soft Suede ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock. Stamp the wreath image onto Old Olive cardstock in Garden Green ink. The flowers are stamped onto Whisper White cardstock using the Stampin’ Write Markers in Berry Burst, Crushed Curry and Sweet Sugarplum. Use the Sliding Door Framelits to die cut these pieces, as well as the track, hardware and door handle from Basic Black cardstock.

Attach the hardware pieces to the door with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, and the flowers to the wreath and the wreath to the door with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Use the Liquid Glue to attach the black ‘track’ above the die cut track on the panel. Add a bow of Whisper White Baker’s Twine to the bottom of the wreath.

Follow the directions as shown in the video to attach the the door to the washers to create the sliding capability. Attach the Foam Adhesives Strips to the back of the panel to complete.

Cut a panel of Whisper White cardstock to fit behind both sides of the sliding door. Stamp the one sentiment on the left, then the 2nd sentiment on the right. I used Berry Burst ink for the sentiments, and repeated the Berry Burst and Crushed Curry for the flowers.

SLIDING DOOR – HALF WAY

This picture shows what it looks like as you’re sliding the door from right to left.

So you essentially have your inside & outside sentiment on the front panel; but half of it is hidden by the door! You could just leave this as your complete card, adding a panel of Whisper White on the back on which to write. But I decided to still make it a ‘traditional’ full card, and added the sliding panel to a full card base.

INSIDE VIEW

Since all the ‘wow’ is on the outside, I kept the inside simple.

I stamped the sentiment in Berry Burst ink, and added another trio of die cut flowers.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

    1. So glad you like my Barn Door card, Susan! I just love interactive cards – they’re such fun 🙂

  1. Hi, I was just wondering where I can purchase this burn door bundle? I can’t find it on Stampin up website…

    1. This barn door bundle is a few years old, and has been discontinued. Your best bet to find it would be de-stash groups on Facebook, or check e-Bay. Good luck!

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
