No – I didn’t misspell the title of this post – I did mean ‘flawsome’ 🙂
I saw a ‘quote’ – I can’t remember where, whether it was from Pinterest, Instagram or Facebook – but I liked it so much, I shared it on my own Instagram page, then on my Facebook business page. It got so many likes, that I thought I should share it here, for those who don’t follow me on either of those social media sites. (I put my links into the words, so you can click them and ‘follow’ and/or ‘like’ them, if you want!)
Here is what ‘flawsome’ means:
Isn’t that just, simply – awesome!?! I’m just going to let you read that again, and let it sink in…..
Done? Okay – because I can’t stop thinking about it. I mean – it seems that these days, many of us feel the pressure to ‘be everything to everyone’, because supposedly all of this technology has made our lives ‘better’. (really? I think it’s given me a lot more to do, not less! with the same number of hours in a day). We push ourselves to be the best at everything – which can be a good thing, because if you’re going to do something, try to do it to the best of your abilities.
That’s the key; ‘to the best of your abilities’. Try your hardest, do your best – but be kind to yourself if it’s not up to your own standard of ‘perfect’. Perfect is boring! Perfect has no flaws, has no character, no kinks, no interest, no individuality.
Perfection is in the eye of the beholder; a lot of my customers say to me ‘oh, your cards are always perfect!’. Well, I don’t think so! That’s because I’m seeing them through my eyes, thinking of the way I wanted them to look – which may not be the way they turned out. But they don’t know what was in my mind when I started – so to them, it turned out ‘just perfect’. (or they are just very, very kind people!)
We need to give ourselves some slack; to say it’s okay to not be perfect -to accept that the way we are is perfect – flaws and all! Flawsome!
It made me think of a card I made awhile back, using the sentiment from the Flower Patch stamp set (you knew I’d work a card or stamp set in here somehow, didn’t you!?)
There you go!
I hope that you will go forth, BE YOU(TIFUL), and BE FLAWSOME!
Right on! Well said, Deborah. We should all remember this. ?
I’m glad you enjoyed my flawsome share, Lynn! 🙂
Thank you, Deborah, for this massage today!
You’re welcome, Brenda! I hope you found some inspiration in being flawsome! 🙂
