Hello again, my friend! I hope that this Tuesday is treating you well. Today I’m playing along with the Paper Players colour challenge. This challenge is to use Black, White and One More Colour, of your choice. Now, if you’ve been following my projects for any length of time, you’ll know that simplicity – or Clean and Simple (CAS) – is NOT my strong suit. However, I’m pretty pleased with myself on this one!
PP454 COLOUR CHALLENGE
Pretty simple instruction, right? Works for me!
For my card, I chose to use the April Girl stamp from Picket Fence Studios. This image can be stamped & left as is, or you can go all out & colour the whole thing. Or, just add one colour!
The one colour I chose to add is pink – bright pink!
Well, not too much to share, here! Start with a black card base. Next, use your die cutting machine with the Altenew Gradient Stripes Cover Die with heavy white cardstock. I chose heavy cardstock over regular, as the top lines are quite thin, and you don’t want them to tear. Attach this to your card base, using a liquid glue.
On a separate piece of white cardstock, stamp the April Girl image in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. Cover it with clear embossing powder, and heat set. Colour in the roses and lips with a Spectrum Noir Tri Blend Marker – Bright Pink Blend. Next, use the coordinating April Girl die, to die cut the image. Attach it to the card front, using foam tape or squares.
Finish off the card front by adding some bright pink pearls or enamel dots. I chose to not add a sentiment, so as to not take away from the image. The black and white, with the small pop of colour, makes me think of Andy Warhol style.
This was a fun challenge, and an easy card to pull together, once I had decided what I wanted to do. If you want to join too, just head over to the Paper Players blog for the details and link. If you’d like to do some shopping for future creating, I’ve included links below. Thanks for spending some time with me today!
