Color Theory Memories & More

Welcome to this week’s sketch challenge with the Paper Craft Crew! I’m excited to share my card this week, as it’s the first time I’ve used the Color Theory Memories and More pack on any project!

First, let’s have a look at the sketch.

Color Theory Memories & More

It’s the large rectangle focal point that lead me to my Color Theory Memories & More pack for inspiration. Here’s what I created.

Color Theory Memories & More

The Dapper Denim looks a bit faded in the photos (darn lighting at this time of year is terrible, even with special lamps!). The Memories & More pack comes with a total of 72 double sided cards in 2 different sizes, plus stickers sheets and printed acetate cards. At only $12.50, it’s an amazing deal!

I used 2 of the different sized cards and cut them down to fit my card front. My card base is the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper, measuring 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″. Next, layer the 4″ x 6″ card from the Pack, cut down to 5″ x 3 3/4″.  Two banners are created, one from the same DSP and the other from Silver Foil Paper.

The snowflake is die cut with the Big Shot and the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies – the largest snowflake. Again, use the Silver Foil Paper. First adhere the DSP banner with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, then the Foil banner with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Next, the DSP and sentiment card are layered on top, with more Dimensionals. The large snowflake is added by gluing just the back, right side of the snowflake to the sentiment.

Finally, 3 Rhinestone Basic Jewels are added to the front.

Along with the sentiment, I added 2 of the smaller die snowflakes, again die cut in Silver Foil Paper.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
