Color Theory Suite

There is a suite of products in the new Annual Catalogue that I know you are absolutely going to LOVE! It’s called the Color Theory Suite, and it not only shows off some beautiful colours, but also the four seasons in a year.

Product in the Color Theory Suite

Have you noticed that I’ve been spelling ‘color’ the ‘american’ way?  Yes I do know that I’ve been doing that, and yes, it is killing me! LOL 🙂 As a Canadian, I always change the spelling in the catalogue to ‘our’ way of spelling.  It’s recently been pointed out to me that the spelling in the catalogue is the way that Stampin’ Up! has trademarked the name.  So, I will do my best, when it refers to a trademarked name, to use the spelling it was given.  If I slip up – you’ll forgive me, right?!

The Color Theory Suite is just that – an entire suite of coordinating products.  If you’re like me, you’re going to want them all!  The suite includes:

Take a Seat

For this card, I chose to use the beach chair image, stamped directly onto a panel of Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack paper in Crushed Curry.  I love how each colour strip gives a feeling of the intensity of the sun, as you relax in your chair, cooling beverage in hand.  I used Lemon Lime Twist ink to stamp the drink onto Whisper White cardstock – and I didn’t even have to fussy cut it!  Thank goodness for thinlits for small  pieces.

The chair seat, small flowers and sentiment were stamped in Berry Burst ink directly onto the DSP.  For the die cut flowers, I used Berry Burst full strength and stamped off once.  Fresh Fig ink was used for the flower stamen.  Crumb Cake ink was used for the chair frame, and the branch was die cut using the Big Shot and the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies, from Crumb Cake cardstock.

In the picture above, you can see the close up of the flowers and branch, which I attached using Glue Dots.  I also added the Glitter Enamel Dots in the middle of each large flower.

Lots of Dimension

To add dimension to my card besides panel of DSP, I like mixing die cuts with direct to paper stamping.  The Seasonal Layers Thinlits Die make this easy to do!

The sentiments in this set are terrific, too.  I added this one to the inside panel:
