COUNTDOWN TO NEW CATALOGUE – DAY 1
Welcome to Day 1 of my Countdown to the New Catalogue! Today through Friday, I’ll be posting a new project each day, using products from the Annual catalogue that goes live this Friday. Due to illness (and not wanting to share it), I’ve had to cancel my kick off party that was to happen this weekend. Instead, I’ll be sharing through my posts!
COMMENT DAILY FOR A CHANCE TO WIN!
During my Kick Off Parties, I like to give away some prizes to my guests. Since I can’t do that this time, I’m going to do a couple of draws on Saturday. Everyone who visits and leaves a comment EACH DAY – you must comment every day, Tuesday through Friday to be entered – will have a chance to win! It’s that easy!
So, with the details out of the way, let me introduce my first project, which uses the Lilypad Lake stamp set and Lakeside Framelits Dies.
LILYPAD LAKE
Great news! You can purchase the Lilypad Lake Bundle, which consists of the stamp set and framelits, and pay 10% less than the combined pricing!
DETAILS
It’s easy to fall in love with this bundle, with it’s images that can be used alone or combined. Along with those you see in my card above, there is also a sun and 2 sailboat images in the stamp set, and a total of 5 sentiments. There are also 2 framelits that fit the sentiments in the set, for a total of 8 framelits.
First, cut a panel of Pool Party cardstock to 3 3/4″ x 5″. Next, use the wavy die in the Lakeside Framelits and the Big Shot to die cut the waves into the bottom portion. Next, use a Sponge Dauber and Pool Party ink pad to sponge the edges of the panel.
On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the heron the lilypad images in Gray Granite ink. Colour the heron image with the Smoky Slate Light Stampin’ Blends Marker, and add shading with the Light Night of Navy Blends Marker.
The lilypad is coloured with the Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Marker, and shaded with the Light Bermuda Bay Blends. Colour the lily flowers with the Light Rich Razzleberry and Light Bermuda Bay Blends Markers.
Use the Lakeside Framelits Dies to die cut the heron and lilypads. Die cut the grasses from Pear Pizzazz cardstock. Use a Sponge Dauber and Old Olive ink pad to shade the edges of the die cut grasses.
The sentiment is from the Lilypad Lake stamp set, inked in Bermuda Bay ink onto Whisper White. Die cut it with the larger of the sentiment framelits from the Lakeside Framelits. Cut a small strip of Bermuda Bay cardstock to layer behind it.
PUTTING IT TOGETHER
Attach the die cut Pool Party Panel to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of Bermuda Bay cardstock, with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Now attach the heron & other die cuts to the front, Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots.
The front panels can then be attached to the Pool Party cardstock base, of 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.
CLOSE UP OF DIE CUTS
You put lots of work into the die cuts – let see the details!
Adding the darker Bermuda Bay background panel helps the ‘water’ stand out. And the fun colouring of the lily pads, plus the heron and grasses, make it seem extra special.
INSIDE VIEW
Of course, you have to add to the inside of the card!
I haven’t added a sentiment yet, but since I stamp, coloured and die cut 2 of the lilypads, I wasn’t going to waste the 2nd one! Adding a die cut or stamped image to the inside of your card makes it look extra special, for the recipient.
GET READY TO ORDER!
The stamp set, framelits and bundle can’t be ordered until about Noon on Friday, June 1st. But you can get your wish list ready! Just don’t try to input the product numbers before then – you’ll have to redo your order! (ask me how I know! I speak from the voice of experience). The GOOD NEWS, if you don’t want to wait, is that the Current Stampin’ Blends colours CAN BE ORDERED NOW! The sad news is that the new colours coming in the catalogue won’t’ be available to order until approximately mid – June.
REMEMBER – COMMENT FOR A CHANCE TO WIN!
Comment on each post daily, between now and this Friday, June 1st inclusive, to be entered for a chance to win! *Small Caveat – you must be a resident of Canada to Win*, but I appreciate all comments!
Any spelling errors or info errors are solely a product of my illness and the medication being taken! I may even have missed some spelling or grammatical errors!! Thanks for visiting, and I’ll see you again tomorrow 🙂
