Daisy Delight Sharing

Hello stamping friend! I thought I’d take a little break from Christmas themed projects, and show you one of the sympathy cards I made recently.  I actually made 2 cards with the same layout, but switched the positioning from right to left, and changed the colours and papers. The first cards was a sketch challenge for the Paper Craft Crew.  You can see the first card IN THIS POST.

For my second card, which I made a few weeks later, I used the Daisy Delight Designer Series Paper, along with the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set.

As you can see, I pulled my colours from the Daisy Delight Designer Series Paper.

The basic colours for this card are Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder and white. Start with a Calypso Coral card base of 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″. Add a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of Wisteria Wonder cardstock. Cut a rectangle of the Daisy Delight DSP, and add a scalloped strip of Calypso Coral cardstock to the right hand side.  To create the scallop, I used a retired Edgelit; you could use the scallop from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.

Stamp the sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers in Calypso Coral ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Die cut it using the Big Shot with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. Die cut the same size oval from Calypso Coral Cardstock, and layer them with Stampin’ Dimensionals, offsetting the stamped oval.

Stamp several of the leaves from the Painted Harvest stamp set. Use Pear Pizzazz for the leaf base, then Garden Green ink for the leaf detail. Punch out the shapes, with the Leaf Punch. Attach the leaves to the back of the layered ovals; use Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Finally, place some Tear & Tape on each side of the ovals, and attach ribbon. I used retired white and Calypso Coral ribbons. The white ribbon is laid flat; I pleated the Calypso Coral ribbon as I laid it down, with the Tear & Tape holding it in place.

I didn’t take a picture of the inside of the card, but you can see that I stamped some of the daisy images from the Daisy Delight stamp set onto the inside panel.

You can order the supplies (except for the retired ribbons) in my online store. Just click on either the product images, or on my signature. My store is open 24/7, so you can order whenever the fancy strikes you!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
