Today’s card is very tongue-in-cheek, so please keep that in mind! I don’t really have a bloated opinion of my ‘awesomeness’. This fun card uses Dandelion Wishes and Sassy Pants Best Friend stamp sets. It’s a nice quick & easy card, but actually uses several techniques.
DANDELION WISHES
The stamp set Dandelion Wishes is from my Stampin’ Up! stash; some stamps I just have to keep!
How many techniques can you spot? There’s actually 4 – let’s see if you guessed them!
IMAGE DETAILS
Start with a panel of white cardstock, and mask off (technique #1) the bottom third with Post It Labeling & Cover Up Tape, or an extra large Post It Note. Stamp the dandelion trio image twice above the mask in Versamark ink, and then add in a few single ‘fluffs’. Keep your mask in place, and cover the stamping in white embossing powder. Set the powder with a heat tool.
Now you’re ready to create your ink blended (technique #2) ombre background. To do this, use your Life Changing Blender Brushes for the smoothest blend. Apply Distress inks, lightest nearest the mask line to darkest at the top. I used Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Abandoned Coral. Here’s a close up photo of my ombre background. It was fun to create!
Once you’re happy with your background, gently pull off the mask. You’ve just finished technique #3, emboss resist! Now, stamp the sentiment from the MFT Sassy Pants Best Friends stamp set in Versafine Clair – Nocturne ink in the middle of the bottom third. Cover it with clear embossing powder, and heat set. (heat embossing is technique #4).
LAYER YOUR IMAGE PANEL
I matched up some cardstock from my stash with the colours used for the blended background. Attach the image panel with foam tape to a light orange cardstock panel, and then attach those to a bright yellow card base.
Isn’t it awesome how much dimension you can achieve, by adding some layers of ink and heat embossing? I think anyone would love to receive this card – as long as they’ve got the right type of humour!
GET SASSY – AND GET STAMPING!
Have some fun – send some Dandelion wishes to your sassy friend! I’m sure they’ll love it. I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card – please leave a comment, if you have time. I always love to read, and reply to your comments. Be sure to come back tomorrow afternoon, for a very special Blog Hop!

Deb, this is a wonderful card. The colors are soooo warm. I also really like the humorous sentiment!
Thank you, Jackie! I’m glad that you like my blended dandelion card. I am having fun with ink blending – and using the snarky sentiments! 🙂
