Deck the Halls

Deck the Halls with Carols of Christmas

I used both the Carols of Christmas stamp set and the Card Front Builder Framelits for my card.  The traditional red, green and white are brightened up with the gold Foil Paper decorations.

I die cut my 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of Whisper White cardstock using my Big Shot and Card Front Builder Framelits.  The border is one die; so first you die cut the top half of the panel, then switch the die around, and die cut the bottom.  This gives you the beautiful frame.

The sentiment,  from the Carols of Christmas stamp set, is stamped directly onto the panel in Real Red ink. The shading and shadow effect is ‘built into’ the stamp for a great look, made easy! Next, I stamped the 2 ornaments image stamps underneath the sentiment, in Memento Black ink.  On a smaller piece of Whisper White, I stamped the ornaments again in Versamark ink, then covered them in Gold Embossing Powder.  Once they were heat set, I die cut them using the Card Front Builder Thinlits.  They die cut 3 ornaments at a time, so it’s very quick!

The poinsettia flowers and leaves are also included in this stamp set, and thinlits.  I used Real Red and Garden Green inks.  After the die cutting was done, each piece was attached to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Finishing off the card is a Rhinestone Jewel in the center of each ornament.

Just by adding the die cut ornaments on top of the stamped ones, you add so much more ‘wow’ to your card! Popping up the front panel onto the Real Red cardstock base ties it all together.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
