Easy Distress Oxide Flower

One lucky winner will be randomly chosen & announced on Oct. 22nd, so hurry! Today’s card is much easier to create; it features an easy Distress Oxide flower.

ALTENEW BEAUTIFUL DAY

I haven’t used this stamp & die bundle in a while! Today I used just the outline images of the flower and the leaves. This stamp set does have multi-step images, for detailed colouring.

We’re having a beautiful sunny day as I created this card, so I went with some bright greens!

CARD DETAILS

Start by stamping the flower and leaves outlines in Versamark ink, onto a piece of white cardstock. Cover with gold embossing powder, and heat set. Next, use a blending tool to colour the inner part of the flower with Wilted Violet ink, and then the outer portion with Dusty Concord.  For the leaves, blend Pine Needles toward the leave centers, and Cracked Pistachio for the outer areas. Once finished blending, use the coordinating Beautiful Day Dies to die cut.

To create the background, use the Altenew Gradient Stripes Cover Die and a bright green cardstock. Attach this with glue to a darker green card base. Next, layer the leaves and flower with glue, and foam tape.  Finally, stamp the sentiment from the Beautiful Day stamp set in Versamark onto the same green cardstock as the base. Cover with WOW superfine white embossing powder, and heat set. Attach it to the card front with foam tape.

You could step up your card even more, by adding some embellishments to the front; say a few enamel dots in the upper right hand corner.  You could make this a ‘seasonal’ card, simply by switching up the colours. For Christmas, maybe substitute the flower for a poinsettia image.
