Hello Stampin' Friends!
I hope that you had a great weekend; I had a good day with family yesterday, and even got to see one of my niece's, who was visiting from Toronto!
Now, I know that I had promised to show you the card that I made for my step-mom for Mother's Day – but then I noticed that I'd already shared it with you!
Oh well – it's such a pretty card – here it is again!
I'm happy to say that she liked it very much! 🙂
Did I share with you how I got the butterfly so shimmery? It's super easy, but is such a 'wow' when you see it in person.
First, ink up your stamp with Versamark ink, then ink it with the colour you want – I used Primrose Petals. Stamp onto your card stock. Then, coat the stamped image with Heat & Stick powder, and then heat it with your Heat Tool. Give it a couple of seconds to cool down, then liberally cover the image with Dazzling Details powder; then set it again with the Heat Tool. Voila! You know have a gorgeous, glittery image, and the glitter will all stick to the image – not you! 🙂
Well, since this is the second time you've seen this card, I'll share another new technique with you – it's another super easy, but effective technique for a one-of-a-kind look on your card. (and that's what hand made is all about, isn't it? Giving someone a gift or card, that is unique!)
I liked this Faux Paint Swatch technique so much, I made 2 cards, one right after the other! Here they are:
Supplies:
Card stock (cut to the size you want for your image panel)
Painter's Tape
3 Ink Pads in either hues of the same colour, or 3 complimentary colours
Silhouette Image stamp
How to:
Tear a piece of painter's tape at least 1"-2" longer than your card stock.
Starting with the lightest ink colour, rub the sticky side of the tape across the ink pad; then lay the tape onto the card stock where you want the colour to be.
Gently press down on the tape, to transfer the ink to the card stock. If you want a wide band, repeat with the same colour, just moving your tape up a bit.
Repeat this process with each of the colours, leaving a bit of white space in between the bands of colour.
Next, ink up your silhouette image stamp in black ink (either Classic Stampin' Up! ink or Staz-on), and stamp your image as desired.
Then, mat and embellish your design as you like – and your masterpiece is complete!
