I am having such fun with these challenges, stamping friends! I hope that you are enjoying seeing my projects as much as I am, making them 🙂
Today I have a card for you based on a sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches – challenge #176. This is the sketch – I knew I was going to have fun with it – I’ve never made this size of a card before!
This is the card I designed:
The card base measures 4″ x 9 1/4″, made of Soft Sky card stock. I cut a smaller panel of Very Vanilla card stock, and sponged Crumb Cake on the bottom 1/3rd, and Soft Sky and Lost Lagoon inks on the top 2/3rds.
The stamp set I used is called Wetlands; it has these terrific little birds that I think are Sandpipers. I inked them up in Soft Suede ink, and stamped them across the Very Vanilla panel. I then added the rushes, colouring them using my Crumb Cake and Hello Honey Stampin’ Write Markers.
After stamping, I tied a length of Linen Thread across the top, and then layered some retired scalloped Tulle in Crumb Cake across the bottom. Then I attached the two panels together using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I had fun creating this card; I like the feeling of quiet that I get when I look at it, as if I were at the beach, with the birds.
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing this card, and I hope you’ll check out all the other amazing cards – design team projects and other submissions – at the Freshly Made Sketches page. I know you’ll enjoy it! If you have a minute to leave a comment, I’d love to read what you think about my cards. Thanks so much!
Until next time – happy stamping!
