New Photo Cards in Shop

Hello again, my creative friend! I hope that this week has been treating you well. An update about my back problem, if you’ve been following my saga…. I had a ‘phone appointment’ with my doctor (no in person visits right now), and she’s prescribed some pain medication for me, and physiotherapy.  My first physio appointment is tomorrow afternoon – and I’m hoping for a miracle! I’ve never been in such pain for so long. And I’ve had 2 C-Sections! Anyway, I don’t have any new project to share today. But I do have some ways for you to get involved, and have fun! There’s sketches, challenges, prompts – oh my!

We just had our Scrap ‘N Stamp Canada, Eh! blog hop yesterday – and it was fun! Each of us in the Design Team created a project with a Canadian theme. It might be words, or symbols, are an actual scene, like I did. You can see my post HERE.  Here comes some extra fun for  you – there are 3 PRIZE PACKS TO BE WON! This month is a bit different. We want you to leave a comment on our blog hop post, our Instagram blog hop post, and our Facebook blog hop post. Just click each one to go to my posts. On July 15th, 3 winners will be randomly chosen – 1 from all blog comments, 1 from all Instagram comments, and 1 from all Facebook comments! Sound complicated? It’s not! Just click the links, and leave your comments. You can even repeat the same comment, if you have trouble coming up with 3 new ones! Below is my project, so you’ll know at a glance which post you should comment on.

Create your project based on a prompt. Next, share it on the Scrap ‘N Stamp Facebook challenge page HERE, using the hashtag #SNSCHALLENGE.  Enter as many times as you want! You can even do multiple projects for a single day, if you’ve had a brainstorm of ideas. At the end of the month, one lucky person will be randomly chosen as WINNER of a $50 Gift Card to Scrap ‘N Stamp!

Its back! Sponsored by Doodlewash, July is officially World Watercolor Month! If you’re not familiar with World Watercolor Month, HERE is the link to some info. Here’s how Doodlewash describe the purpose of this event.

“The goal of World Watercolor Month is to have a LOT of fun and form a daily painting habit, so always remember to paint whatever you love most and enjoy!! Just hearing about this? No worries! Jump in any time during July! And if you want to work on a single painting over several days, feel free to do that as well, sharing your steps along the way or simply the finished painting! Only have 5-10 minutes a day? Practice making paint swatches and share that! And if you already post watercolor daily, then awesome, simply add the hashtag #WorldWatercolorMonth to join us and we’ll add you to the global gallery!

If you find yourself running out of ideas as to what to paint, Doodlewash has you covered! You can find their list of daily prompts HERE. They’re totally optional to use. The important thing is to spend some time each day, if possible, and to share what you’re working on.

All during the month of July, the amazing sponsors of World Watercolor Month will be giving away prizes through Doodlewash! You’ll see some of my favourites there, like Daniel Smith, Van Gogh, Hahnemule, and Winsor & Newton. To enter the current giveaway of 4 Winsor & Newton watercolor paints plus a 9″ x 12″ Watercolor pad, CLICK HERE It’s free to enter! Then, check back HERE regularly on the Doodlewash contest page to see the newest giveaway contest.

As well as entering the contests and having fun with daily painting, you can also support the Dreaming Zebra Foundation by donating, or purchasing from the Souvenir Shop. When you purchase from the Shop, 100% of the proceeds of each sale go direct to the Foundation, which helps underprivileged kids get art supplies. You can find the Souvenir Shop by CLICKING HERE.

This time, I’m offering MY OWN GIVEAWAY! I’ve purchased 2 of the art pouches from the Souvenir Shop; one to keep, and one to give away. This is the pouch that I’ll be giving away.

Get Involved & Have Fun!

It’s this gorgeous Irina Trzaskos Limited Edition Pouch! Created with the art of Ambassador Irina Trzaskos, this 12″ art pouch is perfect for storing your pens, brushes, paints & palettes.  It’s 100% polyester with a white zipper, so you don’t have to worry about it getting messy.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO TO ENTER is email me at  any time between now and July 31st, with a link to your OWN watercolour project! It can be a work in progress, or a completed project. It can be any size or shape, as long as it’s done in watercolour paints. On August 1st I’ll randomly draw 1 winner from all of the email submissions I receive. Enter as often as you want, but your name will be entered only once.  If you’re okay with me sharing your artwork, please let me know, in your email.

I’m really looking forward to seeing your watercolour creations!

Okay – I think I’ve given you a few ways to get involved and have fun with art this month! Enjoy the art process, whichever medium you use.  This back issue of mine is making me realize just how much I enjoy daily creating, and how much I’m missing it right now. I’ll be doing a lot of catch-up!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

  1. Hola, Deb! Girl, now I ‘m the one in pain. It’s my fault. I slept crooked on the couch. Duh. Anyway, thanks for the heads up on Doodlewash. I love to watercolor. I wish I was better at it. 😊

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
