Hello Stampers!

Well, a few days ago I told you that I would show you the gift card holders that I made for my friend’s birthday, so here we go!

This first one I sort of made up as I went along

I started with a piece of Tangerine Tango cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 11″
Then score 3″ in from each end, and also in the middle (at 5 1/2″)

Fold at the score lines, so you get a ‘W’ shape.
Put adhesive along the bottom 2 outside pieces , adhering them all together (I used our red line sticky tape – no worry about it falling apart!)
Using your small circle punch, punch a 1/2 circle at the top of the middle section (to pull the gift card out).  You’ll have to punch hard – going through 2 layers of cardstock!
Then, slit open the centre fold, and insert the gift card.
Finally – decorate as you like – I used some pretty paper and ribbon left over our Sale-a-bration!.

Here, you can see how the ribbon unties, and there’s the gift card in the centre!

For this next gift card  holder, I used a tutorial made by the talented SU! demonstrator Lorri Heiling; the tutorial can be found here http://stampingaddict.blogspot.ca/search/label/SWAK

It’s a super cute holder, especially since I tucked a Starbucks gift card inside 🙂
I used Whisper White cardstock as the base, embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  For the ‘sleeve’ in the middle, I used Close to Cocoa card stock, embossed with the Stripes embossing folder.  I used the NEW Layered Labels stamp set with the matching Apothecary Accents Framelits die, popped up with dimensionals on top over the super cute 1/2″ Scallop Dots Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler.
These were such fun to make, I will definitely be making more!
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing these gift card holders – if you’d like to join a class to make some of these, or other projects, leave me a message here, or email me at debsmart@shaw.ca or call me at 604 298 0472 to join the fun & get creative!!  (wouldn’t these be perfect for those Christmas gift cards you’ll be buying soon?!?!)
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
