GNOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
The stamp set I used is from Spellbinders, named Be Merry – Holiday Gnomes! This stamp set features 3 adorable gnomes, along with sentiments and several other images.
Of course, I had to use the stamp set name, for my sentiment!
The most difficult part of creating this card, is choosing the colours for your gnome couture! First, cut a piece of smooth with cardstock for a slimline panel. Next, line up the gnomes and the paper in your stamp platform, and stamp all 3 at once with Nocturne ink. Cover the ink with clear embossing powder, and heat set. Now use your chosen colours for the gnomes. I chose from my Copic markers; B00 Frost Blue, B02 Robin’s Egg Blue, R29 Lipstick Red, G03 Meadow Green, YG07 Acid Green, YG25 Celadon Green, and W3 Warm Gray. Here’s a close up photo of the cute gnomes!
Next, stamp one of the trees onto a piece of scrap copy paper. Cut it out with scissors (or the die, if you have those), to use as a mask. First, stamp the dark green trees on either side of the gnomes. Then, using the paper mask over the front trees, stamp the background trees in a different green. Use a blending tool and lightly blend Tumbled Glass Distress Ink around the edges of the cardstock. Next, stamp the sentiment in red ink, and then die cut it with a stitched square die.
LAYER IT UP
Attach the sentiment with some foam tape, and then layer the stamped panel onto a green cardstock, with more foam tape. Next, attach these to a red card base. Finish off your card by adding some embellishments – I used some snowflake and silver sequins from my stash.
