Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July, my stamping friends!

One of the best things about being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is the friends I’ve made all over the world! Since I’m in Canada, most of my demonstrator friends are also Canadians, but I’ve also made of lot of demo friends in the U.S., since they are our closest neighbour!  I’ve attended a few Stampin’ Up! events in the U.S. over the years, and am very happy to have met some of the friends in person, that I had only previously known on line.

Stampin’ Up! has a great demonstrator only online community called Stampin’ Connection, where we share creative ideas, product tips, business ideas and of course just chat & have fun 🙂

In celebration of our neighbours 4th of July events, I thought I’d share a card I made last year – my version of the U.S. flag.

4th of July Flag

Happy 4th of July

This was a fun card to create, and yes – it’s meant to be representative of the flag, not an exact replica! (in other words – I  know there isn’t the correct number of stars!).

Details

On a panel of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the Night of Navy with the Work of Art stamp set square brushstroke image. The small stars were die cut with the retired Stars Framelits, and attached with Liquid Glue. Using the Big Shot and Swirly Scribbles Framelits, I die cut a panel of Real Red cardstock.  I like how they look like the flag is actually ‘waving’ in the wind. The Fine Tip Glue Pen was perfect for gluing down the thin die cut lines!

Neighbour Flags

I actually created this flag card at the same time as the flag card for Canada Day; I posted it a on July 1st, for our Canada Day in this post.  Here are the 2 cards, together.

Happy 4th of July

I hope that however you choose to celebrate, have a safe and Happy 4th of July!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
