Hello Stampin' Friends!

Well, just when you thought I was done with Birthday cards – here's another one! Ha ha!!

You might remember in an earlier post last month, I mentioned that my cousin & her husband & sons were visiting from Scotland; well, the 8th was her Birthday!  We're both the same age (well, I guess technically she's 15 days older than me….) but we're not going to tell anyone exactly how old that is! 😉

I made this special card for her, using a 'fancy fold' ; here's a couple of pictures showing how the card folds towards the centre from both sides, and closes with the frames overlapping.

Using the Big Shot (item#113439) and the Labels Collection Framelits (#125598) I cut out 2 frames in Midnight Muse cardstock (#126843).  I layered those over a Pool Party card stock  base, on top of which I layered Comfort Cafe DSP (#126898).  You make sure to adhere the frames so that they are adhered on opposite sides, so they will fit through each other when opening.  The sentiment is stamped in Raspberry Ripple ink (#126859) on Very Vanilla cardstock, punched with the Curly Label punch (#119851).  I stamped the butterfly once with the Papillon Potpourri set (#12359c/123757w), and hand coloured it with the new In Colour Stampin' Write Markers (#126856).  I then punched the butterfly with the new Elegant Butterfly punch (#127526), and layered it on top of another one punched from Raspberry Ripple card stock.

On the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment from

a retired stamp set in Midnight Muse ink, and framed it using the Labels Collection Framelit again to carry the look through the card. The 'swirl' stamped in Midnight Muse ink on both sides of the card is from the Elements of Style stamp set (#120045c/118611w).

I hope you like this card, and I promise – next post will not be a birthday card!! Until then – check out my Stamp Set of the Month Club, and sign up for some of my upcoming Classes!

Happy Stamping,

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
