HAPPY MAIL FOR A SKETCH CHALLENGE
Hello stamper! It’s Wednesday, so that means we at the Paper Craft Crew have a new challenge for you! I hope your week is going well; I’ve actually been pretty productive this week so far! Today I’ve got some happy mail for this sketch challenge – I hope you like it!
PCC329 SKETCH
Here’s the sketch to work from this week.
Doesn’t this look like fun to start from? Remember you can change the shapes, and/or the orientation of the sketch. As long as it’s recognizable as this as the starting point, you’re golden! You get to choose the colours, stamps and embellishments to use.
HAPPY MAIL
I chose to use the Happy Mail stamp set & dies from Pretty Pink Posh.
I kept just about everything else the same, except I change the focal shape on the side, and changed the embellishments to die cuts.
CARD FRONT DETAILS
Start with a panel of white cardstock. Use a blending tool to add a soft background. I used SU! Bermuda Bay ink, applied with Life Changing Blender Brushes. I really like how the ink goes on very smoothly with these brushes, leaving no harsh lines or ‘start marks’.
Next, stamp the sentiment from the Happy Mail stamp set onto a smaller piece of white cardstock in the same Bermuda Bay ink. On a separate piece of white cardstock, stamp the bird and 2 of the letters in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Since I was already using SU! inks, I used the SU! Blends Markers to colour the images. I used the Bermuda Bay light & dark Blends for the bird. For the letters, I used the Flirty Flamingo Marker, and Lovely Lipstick marker for the heart.
After colouring, die cut the images using the Happy Mail matching dies, and the sentiment using a stitched oval die. Also die cut a larger oval from Flirty Flamingo cardstock. Layer it behind the sentiment with foam tape, and attach it to the front panel. Attach the bird and letters to the front panel as shown above, using foam squares cut to size.

Adorable card! The heart on the envelope the bird is carrying almost looks like a smile on the bird’s face. So cute.
