I’m really feeling the fall mood these days! Although our weather hasn’t changed enough to see the usual riot of fall colours yet, we have been having cooler temps. So, I’m incorporating fall colours into my cards, instead. The Memory Box Harvest Love stamp set is perfect for this.
I used an Altenew set that was given to me, called Peony Scrolls. I’m not sure when it was released, but it sure is pretty.
The sentiment is from the Memory Box Harvest Love set; the leaves & flower are from the Altenew Peony Scrolls.
You could start with a white cardstock panel and ink blend yellow and orange. Instead, I thought I’d save some time and start with a piece of yellow cardstock. Next, blend Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink around the edges and towards the middle. Voila – it looks like you blended 2 colours, instead of just one! Stamp the sentiment in Versamark ink in the middle of the panel. Cover the stamping with white embossing powder, and set with a heat tool.
On watercolour paper, stamp the leaves and peony images in Versamark ink. Cover them with gold embossing powder, and set with a heat tool. Now, use Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, along with a water brush, to watercolour the images. This is easily down by lightly covering the image with water, then adding the colour with the marker. Next, switch back to the water brush (or small paintbrush) and blend out the colours with the wet brush. The colours I chose are 022 Carmine Red, 050 Yellow and 070 Orange. Next, use the coordinating dies to die cut the pieces, using a Big Shot.
On a yellow card base, glue 2 2″ squares of red cardstock in the upper left and bottom right corners. Attach the main blended panel on top, using either fun foam sheet or foam tape. Next, attach the peony and leaves, with glue. Finish off the card front by adding some Picket Fence Studios Candy Corn Shot sequins.
This is a lovely card to send for just about any occasion, during the fall season.
I hope that you enjoyed today’s Harvest Love card! I’ve really been enjoying using this new set. Have a great weekend – enjoy some fall activities of your own, as well as crafting.
