It’s one of my favourite holiday songs; the original sung by Judy Garland; Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. It brings all the memories of childhood Christmas back (my parents were big on listening to music all the time). So when I saw that the title of the song is included in the Secret Santa stamp set by MFT, I knew I would use it! What song or sentiment brings good memories to you?
A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS
Yesterday I showed you all of the pieces I had coloured and die cut from this set. You can see that post HERE, if you missed it. Today, I’m sharing with you the finished cards!
Isn’t this sweet? Santa asking you silently to keep his secret, while the children peek inside the stocking.
Assembly of the card is quick & easy, once all of the pieces are stamped, coloured and die cut! With a large oval die, die cut the center from a 4″ x 5 1/4″ white cardstock. Create your card base of light blue cardstock. Using one of the white die cut panels as a mask, apply Faded jeans Distress Oxide ink to the bottom half of the oval, with a blending tool. Repeat this step with each card. Next, flip your mask over to the ‘clean side’, and attach it with glue to the card base.
Now you can attach all the die cut images with foam tape, creating your holiday scene. Stamp the Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas sentiment in red ink onto a strip of white cardstock, and attach it with foam tape to the top right of the card.
As I said, doing an ‘assembly line’ of stamping, colouring, and die cutting makes the assembly of the cards go quickly. You feel like a champ, making 3 cards in what seems like a flash!
I hope that your holiday card making is going well! Come back tomorrow for a different style of Christmas card. It is created for our Paper Craft Crew challenge, which kicks off tomorrow. See you then!
