Heartfelt Hydrangea

Welcome to the start of another week! I hope that you had a great weekend. Did you check out our Galentine’s Blog Hop that went live on Friday?  Be sure to check it out HERE – and leave a comment on each post in the Hop. One lucky person will be randomly selected as the winner of a $50 Gift Card to Scrap ‘N Stamp! Today I have a nice quick card to share with you, featuring the Heartfelt Hydrangea stamp set.

This lovely stamp set is from Gina K. Designs. The large flower image is gorgeous for colouring, but we don’t always have time for that. This card shares the perfect solution for a fab card in very little time!

Purple and gold is such a rich, regal combination, don’t you think?

Start with a panel of white cardstock. Lay the smaller of the Taylored Expressions Masking Rectangles mask over the cardstock. Hold it in place either with a repositionable spray or tape; I use Thermo Web Purple Tape for less intricate masks. Now, use a blending tool to apply Dusty Concord Distress Oxide ink inside the rectangle.  Next, remove and wipe clean the stencil.  Now, set up the panel and the hydrangea stamp in your MISTI or other stamp platform. Cover the stamp with Versamark ink, and stamp firmly. Repeat this process at least once, to ensure good coverage of the intricate image. Next, cover the image with gold embossing powder, and heat set.

Stamp the sentiment, also from the Heartfelt Hydrangea set, in Versarmark ink in the bottom right corner, under the blended rectangle. Cover with the same gold embossing powder, and heat set. Now you can layer this panel onto a panel of gold glimmer paper with foam tape or fun foam. Finally, glue the panels onto a dark purple card base. This would make a great card to go along with our Galentine’s theme, or just a very nice card for a friend.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
