Welcome to a new week – and half way through August! I’ve been busy working on some projects, and I’ve come to a  point where I really need your help. Hopefully you won’t mind giving me some feedback and your input, as a fellow creator.  We all need a little help sometimes, right? Even if it’s just to tell us we’re on the right track.

EDGING

Okay – a week ago I post my F.I.P. – Fun In Progress of the tray and coordinating coasters. Well, they’re now done, and ready to be listed for sale. Here’s where your input is appreciated.  Do you think that I should add some colour to the edges of the coasters and tray, or leave them as is? For instance, add gold or silver edging?  Here’s some photos of the finished tray, and coasters.

Here’s the set, shown above. I’ve decided that I’ll be bundling these together with 1 price, since they’re just so perfect together!

By edging, what I mean is like what I did on the Hummingbird coasters, and the Gatsby Tray, below.

I used gold both times, but I also have silver, plus a ton of non-metallic colours.

COLOURS FOR ‘TWISTER’ 24″ ART PIECE

I’ve just received my new order from Pour Away Fluid Arts, which is where I get the 3D printed frames from. You can see the past ones that I’ve done – the Celtic Knot, and the Optical Illusion Tunnel, for example.  One of the newest frames I purchased is called Twister, and it’s AMAZING!! I fell in love with it, and am part of the reason why they added it to their store! The wonderful makers there shared their video of creating it ‘just for fun’, and weren’t planning on offering it for sale – until I shamelessly begged!  This photo below is a grab from their video – this is not my art.

I Need Your Help

Isn’t it gorgeous?! I just love the colours they used – 2 blues, a gold and an interference gold mica (it’s poured into & muddled into the other colours).  But of course – I don’t want to just copy their work – I want to make my own. The problem is that I have so many choices, I’m stuck trying to decide.

So – here are 3 sets of colours palettes that I’ve come up with as options.

Top left is a palette of oranges, brown-red and gold. Top rights is purples, rose gold & antique gold. Bottom is blue, blue-green, silver white and gold.  To be honest, my usual go-to is the blues & greens, as they’re one of my favourite combinations. But the orange/red/gold is calling to me right now – maybe because I’m looking forward to autumn?

HELP A GIRL OUT!

So please, help a girl out here! I’d love to hear your feedback on whether I should paint the edges of the Bottom’s Up! Tray & Coaster set (or just one or the other). As well, let me know what YOUR favourite colour palette is, from the 3 I’ve shown. Or, give me something completely different!

Thanks so much for checking in with me today; I’m looking forward to hearing your opinion.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

  1. I love your tray/coasters as they are. They’re laid back and relaxed – just like the beach. As far as colors – Purple is always appropriate (my second favorite color!), the blues and greens are perfect for a beach place, and fall is my favorite season. So I’m thinking one in each color palette!

    1. Thanks so much for your input, Buffy! I really appreciate you taking the time to reply to my post 🙂
