Impression Obsession Bear Family

Good news! My order arrived, and I’ve made more cards to donate to The Fur Bearers! If you’ve missed my previous posts about the cards I’m donating, you can see them HERE, HERE and HERE. Today’s cards use the Impression Obsession Bear Family stamp, along with the Penny Black Quietude stamp.

BEAR FAMILY

This silhouette image of the bear family make it so easy to use! All I had to do was decide on what kind of background for them. I have a lot of scenic stamps by Penny Black, so I tried out a few of those. Finally, I decided to use a portion of the Quietude stamp.

By using my MISTI stamp positioner, it was easy to use my markers for selectively inking the background images. Also, repeated inking was necessary for full coverage of the bear silhouettes.

CARD DETAILS

First, set up your white cardstock in your MISTI. Next, line up the Bear Family stamp with the bottom of your cardstock. Stamp with Nocturne ink, repeating for full coverage. Repeat this with each of the card fronts, until you’ve stamped all of the bear images you need. Clean & remove the bear stamp, and then line up the Quietude stamp on the first card front. Use markers to colour in the trees & tree line. To create depth & distance, use a lighter green for the further away trees, and darker for close up. Stamp the birds in a medium gray ink.

Once all of your stamping is done, use Distress Inks to blend on the background colours. You could do this first, but I did it last. I just wanted the suggestion of the sun, so I gently applied Mustard Seed in a semi circular motion, above the horizon line.

Here’s a photo, below, of the completed Bear Family cards.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

    1. I’m glad that you like this Bear Family card, Buffy! It was fun to add in the ‘sun’, and background.

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
