It’s easy to take part in the Hop! Simply enjoy the post, and then leave a comment! Do this, because everyone who comments is automatically entered to WIN 1 OF 3 PRIZE PACKS! After leaving your comment, then click on the link to the next blog in the Hop.  Then repeat the enjoying, commenting & clicking! You’ll also find the full list of links below, so that you can go back & enjoy the projects again, as well as know when you’re finished. If you started at the beginning, then you’ll have arrived here from Laurie’s blog. I just loved her project!  Now, let me share mine. I’ve made 2 cards, so I’ll keep the descriptions brief!

For this card, I created an alcohol ink background. To do this, first add Ranger Vineyard and Maroon inks together onto a felt blending pad on a blending tool, and then ‘pounce’ the colours onto the Yupo panel. Next, I added some sparkle to the inks by blending on some Marabu brand Rainbow alcohol ink. There’s no base colour to this ink, it just has micro sparkles in the clear base! Once the ink was dry, the Fox 1 (Kernal) is stamped in StazOn ink. Be sure to use your stamp platform for this, as you’ll need to re-ink and stamp several times, for a solid image.

For the Moon, ink up the image in a dark gray ink, and stamp onto Vellum paper. Die cut the moon using a circle die, and then glue it on to the upper right corner. Trim down your panel, and attach it with a strip of Tonic Sugar Crystal paper to the card base.

The background for this card is from the beautiful Lavinia Dream-Scape Papers, Colourburst Collection. What’s unique about these papers is how they’re made! Prints are created by Lavinia artists, using techniques with alcohol inks, ink blending, stencils and more. These vibrant backgrounds are then scanned digitally and printed on 150 gsm premium matte card giving you a base to stamp on.

In your stamp platform, set up the paper, and line up the sentiment stamp Never Let Go and the Weeping Willow Tree stamp. Cover the tree in dark brown ink, and the sentiment in Dusty Concord ink.  After removing & cleaning the stamps, partially stamp the Mystic Swirl stamp in the upper right and bottom left of the paper, in Versamark ink. Cover the stamping with clear embossing powder, and heat set. Use a green marker to create some ‘grass’ to ground the tree. Add shading to the tree using a Copic E89 Pecan marker.  A few highlights with a white gel pen finish off the front.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed  my 2 cards! Before you head over to see Kia’s amazing project, be sure to leave a comment here! Prize winners are drawn mid-month,  so don’t miss out! I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

  1. Your cards are beautiful Deb! I have not tried the alcohol inks, but they give such amazing results. Thanks for showcasing the Lavina paper packs, they are a quick way to get a background for some of these beautiful stamps. Thanks for inspiring and sharing.

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
