Love What You Do, Share What You Love

LOVE WHAT YOU DO, SHARE WHAT YOU LOVE

The words ‘love what you do, share what you love’ are from the Stampin’ Up! Statement of the Heart. It’s sort of explains why we stampers and crafters do what we do. If we didn’t love doing it – we wouldn’t be doing it, right?! Well, this past Friday evening I really felt the love of what I do, and sharing what I love.

I had posted last week about a couple of my friends asking if I would do a card class for some ladies, at their church. Of course I said yes! If you missed that post, you can READ IT HERE.  Anyway – long story short, there ended up being 37 ladies to make cards, and my team member Lynn joined me in design, prep and teaching, and another friend Penny joined to help that evening.  I think this will be the 1st Annual Christmas card class!! Yes, I think everyone enjoyed themselves, loved the cards they made, and had a fun time with current friends, and making new ones!

I did my best to take some photos during the event, that I thought I’d share with you today.

DASHING DEER & BEAUTIFUL BLIZZARD CARDS

Here are 2 of the cards that were made, and pictures of some ladies making them.

This table is making the Beautiful Blizzard card, seen above. I think this card had the most actual stamping on it, which everyone enjoyed. For some of the brand new stampers (yes, there were a few!) they were thrilled at how the background could be created with just a stamp and ink!

This group is working on the Dashing Deer card, seen above. For this card, they did layering and heat embossing. Psst….the lady with the short hair, white top with black sweater, against the door, is my friend Pam – one of the wonderful hostesses for the class! 🙂

NIGHT IN BETHLEHEM & HIS LIGHT

Love What You Do, Share What You Love

Sorry this isn’t the best picture! I forgot to take on during the event, so this one was taken at Lynn’s dining room table.  It uses the beautiful Night in Bethlehem and His Light stamp sets, and the coordinating Bethlehem Edgelits Dies. The Blackberry Bliss looks gorgeous with the copper embossing and white layers.

Here’s some ladies working on the card, while others are waiting for the embossing table and Heat Tools! You can see Lynn, my team member, in the middle of the 3 ladies facing the embossing table (to the right), and Penny, facing the card table, wearing the black top with red flowers on it.  Such wonderful ladies!

This card uses the Illuminated Christmas stamp set, along with the retired Foil Snowflake and patterned designer paper.

Hmmm…seems I didn’t get a picture of the Illuminated Christmas table – so here’s another group of ladies working on the Beautiful Blizzard card! (in my defense, I was ‘manning’ this table, plus the Dashing Deer table!)

GRACIOUS HOSTESSES

I’m sad to say that with us all being so busy setting up, then during the class and again packing up, I failed to get a picture of our 2 lovely hostesses, Pam & Kathie! Pam and I have know each other since our youngest boys were in Kindergarten class together; and I met Kathie through Pam, sometime during the next 15 years.

Pam and Kathie went above & beyond with their spread of goodies for everyone – of course, I didn’t get out to take a picture until towards the end, when this is all that was left!

There was also another table with coffee, tea and water.

ARE YOU MAKING YOUR CHRISTMAS CARDS?

If you’d like to make the Christmas cards shown above, I’ve listed the supplies used below. To order, you can click on the product images, and go directly to my online store. Of course you can also contact me and I’ll order for you.

If you’d like to get a group of your friends together to have fun making some cards, let me know! (I’d suggest less than 37 friends at once, though!) You gather your friends, arrange the time & place, and I’ll bring all the supplies and instructions for making the cards.  You can also choose the theme – it doesn’t have to be just for Christmas!

Thank you again, Pam and Kathie for asking me to put together this fun class, and thank you to Lynn and Penny – I couldn’t have done it without you!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
