Here in ‘demonstrator land’, we’re all getting excited for the upcoming new Annual catalogue. I know, it doesn’t ‘go live’ until June 1st, but as demonstrators, we get to preview it in April!! How’s THAT for a perk?! Next month is our regional On Stage mini conventions, and that’s where demos get together to see demonstrations of some of the new products, as well as receive their new Annual catalogues. For demos not able to attend (like me-insert sad face), we get to see the new catalogue online. So, while we all anticipate the new, I thought I’d do a look back at one of the stamp sets with the most longevity – Lovely as a Tree!
LOVELY AS A TREE
This set is now available in both wood and clear mount; it previously was only available in wood mount. See – we change with the times! 😉
This set contains 6 image stamps, and they’re incredibly versatile! I mean – trees! Trees are always there, all year long. Spring, summer, fall and winter – and you can use these images for all of those seasons. All you need is your imagination, our inks, and perhaps some tools.
SUNSET TREES
Back in 2013 (omg – has it been that long?!) – I created these 2 sunset theme cards with the Lovely as a Tree stamp set, a few ink pads, and my Brayer. Back then, we only sold the solid rubber Brayer; now you can get the Sponge Brayers.
After using the Brayer to create the background with Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive ink, stamp the trees in either Basic Black Archival or Memento Black ink. The highlights are added with a white gel pen (we used to sell), or you can use the White Stampin’ Chalk Marker.
I still remember making this card, and the one above. That’s how impactful this set truly is. I learned my Brayer technique from videos by Michelle Zindorff; she does the most amazing work with a Brayer and colouring! If you haven’t seen her work – where the heck have you been hiding! LOL! Seriously – check out her blog, or else you’re missing out on great work.
REFLECTION TECHNIQUE
The Lovely as a Tree stamp set is perfect when creating with the Reflection technique. I posted this card in late 2016 – you can read the post by clicking HERE. (The link will open in a new tab, so you won’t lose your place in this post).
The Reflection technique is easily done with one more tool – a piece of Window Sheet! The directions for this card are in the original blog post, so I won’t repeat myself – just go have a look! 🙂
To see even more cards made with this stamp set, just type in Lovely as a Tree in the ‘Search’ box in the left hand sidebar. Happy viewing!
GET YOUR OWN LOVELY AS A TREE
Yes, it is still available! Choose either wood or clear mount, whichever you prefer. Then, get stamping with this perennial favourite, as you wait for the new catalogue to arrive in June! Oh – and if you can’t wait until June, and want to preorder from the new Annual catalogue in May – join my team as a demonstrator! It’s just one of the great perks.

These are beautiful, Deborah! This is such a great set. Mine is wood mount in a clam shell case (the only one left on my shelf), so I keep forgetting about it.
Funny you should say that, Buffy! My LAAT set is wood mount, in a clam-shell case, too!
