Hello Stamping Friends!

Well, another week has gone past – already!  Time seems to be just flying by these days.  No comments about aging, okay! 🙂  LOL

Last night was a lot of fun; there was just 3 of us at class, but numbers just don't seem to matter when it comes to enjoying yourself with friends, creating, crafting and laughing!  I was asked 'so, you didn't think to cancel?'.  Well, no!  Those who did commit to attending put the class in their schedules, set aside the time, and look forward to some 'gal time'.  And I look forward to it, as well!  To me, it isn't about having the table jammed full of people, it's about the quality of time that we spend together.  As long as everyone enjoys themselves, and is happy with the projects we make, then the class is a success to me!

So here's a picture of Amanda and Lynn – proudly displaying the first of 2 "fancy fold" cards!

They have every reason to be proud – they did a wonderful job!

Here's a close up of my sample card they worked from

This is called a "Centre-Step Card".  You can see how the centre part is 'stepped' forward.

Here's a couple of side-view pictures, so you can see the detail.

Cardstock: Soft Sky, Gumball Green, Smoky Slate, Glossy White, Whisper White

Inks: Gumball Green, Pear Pizzaz, Daffodil Delight, Summer Starfruit, Wisteria Wonder, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Staz-On Basic Black

Stamp Sets: Hardwood, Papillion Poutpourri, Blessed Easter, Loving Thoughts

Tools/Accessories: Stampin Write Markers in all colours above; Fringe Scissors, Oval Collection Framelits, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Paper Snips, Stampin' Dimensionals

We stamped the flower and butterfly images onto the Glossy cardstock with Staz-On Basic Black ink, then coloured them in using the Stampin' Write Markers.  They colour just beautifully; if you don't have any SU! Glossy cardstock left in your stash (it's been discontinued), you can use glossy photo paper.

Here are Amanda and Lynn with the second card of the night:

They did a terrific job, do you agree?!  Along with the fancy-fold – it's called a Tri-Shutter Fold Card – there was a lot of detail work done; heat embossing, colouring and cutting and punching!

This is a close up of my sample card.

And a side view, so you can see how it unfolds.

Cardstock: Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White

Designer Series Paper: Watercolour Wonder

Stamp Sets: Petite Petals, You're Lovely (SAB), Wonderful Mother (retired)

Tools/Accessories: Petite Petals Punch, Simply Scored, Heat Gun; Pewter Embossing Powder, Pearl Basic Jewels

Inks: Pumpkin Pie, Crisp Cantaloupe, Crushed Curry, Island Indigo, Gumball Green

We usually do 4-5 cards in a class, but because these were fancy folds, and also included a lot of detail work, we only did the two cards.  And, both Lynn and Amanda managed to get one more order in, to take advantage of yesterday being the last day for Free Shipping!  I hope you were able to get in on that great deal, too!

Just because the free shipping is over, doesn't mean you can't still get some of your favourite stamp sets and papers from the Retiring List before they are gone for good!  A lot of product has sold out already – all of the 2012-14 In Colour cardstock, stamp pads and inks were sold out before the end of the 1st day; but there's still lots of stamp sets and accessories to be had.

I'm super-excited for next Wednesday – that's when we Canadian demonstrators get to attend a 'reveal' of the New Annual Catalogue!!  Across Canada in movie theatres, we'll be gathering together, with some reps from Stampin' Up! to get our copy of the catalogue, and see the new products, tools, colours and accessories for the next year!!  Then on May 1st, I'll be doing a pre-order of goodies, so that when you come to my Open House on May 30th you'll be able to see, touch & play with the newest of the new products!!  So be sure you save the date – May 30th, 7:00 pm!  I'll be sending out invitations, so be sure you're on my mailing list to get one!

Okay, now I'm off to work on some Thank You cards for my wonderful customers, and get some ideas firmed up for my next Blog Hop, which will be on May 4th.

Until next time – Happy Stamping!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

  1. I love your cards (as always) I especially like the tulip card and MUST learn more ‘fancy folds”

    1. So nice of you to say how much you liked the cards, Terri!  Fancy folds are such fun – worth the extra time they take.  Thanks for stopping by 🙂
