Happy Monday, my friend! I hope that you had a good weekend. Mine was busy, as usual, but I took some time to play with my alcohol inks – I’ll share that tomorrow! I also worked on more cards to donate to The Fur Bearers. I talked about this fabulous non-profit organization in THIS POST, if you’d like to read more. In that post I also shared the first batch of cards that are completed.
PIPPIN AND MAX
In the first batch of cards, I used the small Pippin rabbit image. In today’s cards, I combined Pippin with his big brother Max! Both stamps are from Lavinia Stamps, so I thought it was appropriate to use them with some of the gorgeous Lavinia Stamps Dream-scapes Colourburst paper.
I just love the beautiful backgrounds these papers provide. I added a few more stamps to complete the scene for these adorable rabbits.
CARD DETAILS
As you can see, I chose 2 patterns of paper for the 4 cards. I also chose different but coordinating colours for the card bases. Other than that, the same stamps are used on each card. The Lavinia Stamps used are Max, Pippin, Seasonal Tree, Bluebells and Fairy Bugs. I’m afraid that I didn’t keep track of the ink colour names I used. The trees are in a dark brown, a bright blue for the bluebells & starbursts, and the rabbits are in Nocturne black, a dark brown, and dark gray.
For ‘grounding’ the rabbits & trees, simply tear a piece of copy paper to create a mask. Next, use a blending tool & dark gray ink to create the ground. This way, your images are floating!
Here’s the 2 dark blue card base cards, with a strip of light green on the left hand side.
And here are the green card bases, with blue strip on the side.
Do you have a colour preference? You’ll notice that there’s no sentiment on these cards, or on the first batch that I did. That was one of the requests from The Fur Bearers, so that they can simply add an appropriate sentiment inside.
MORE TO COME
If you’d like to read more about The Fur Bearers, you can read my first post HERE, & also see the first cards. I’m hoping that the new animal stamps that I ordered from Impression Obsession will be here next week! Postal service is rather slow between the U.S. and Canada, but that can’t be helped! In the meantime, I’ll make more cards with what I have, and share with you when they’re done.
I don’t usually post to my blog on the weekend, so if you missed yesterday’s (Sunday) post, I hope you’ll CLICK HERE to read it! There’s a fun & easy hack for heat embossing without Versamark ink, as well as a GIVEAWAY from Scrap ‘N Stamp!
If you like the cards are shared today, supply links are added below. Affiliate links for supplies are provided. If you choose to use my links, you help support me in maintaining my blog, at no extra cost to you. Thanks in advance!
These are so sweet!
Thanks, Buffy! I just love the critters from Lavinia 🙂
Wonderful cards! That paper and the stamps are so perfect together
Thanks, Jackie! I agree – The people at Lavinia Stamps really know how to coordinate 🙂
