More Graceful Glass

I shared my first card using the Graceful Glass Designer Vellum a couple of days ago (you can read that post HERE & see the card). I had cut one of the 6″ x 6″ pieces into panels, and used just one of the panels. So of course, I had to come back today and share how I used the other 3 panels.

Since the Graceful Glass panels are so beautifully detailed, I wanted to show them off, and the colouring I had done. I decided to use the Delightfully Detailed Note Cards & Envelopes as the base for the each panel. The beautiful watercolour wash look to the note cards is a terrific background for the panels.

I chose to use the Mint Macaron colour note cards, as the lighter coloured allowed the colouring on the vellum to still shine.  Here is a picture of the trio of note cards.

Each panel was trimmed down to fit the note card. All of the colouring was done with our Stampin’ Write Markers. The roses are coloured with Rich Razzleberry, and the leaves are Garden Green and Old Olive.

The yellow flowers are coloured with Daffodil Delight. For the lilies, I used Mango Melody, and added some shading with the Grapefruit Grove marker. The leaves are a combination of Granny Apple Green and Garden Green.

It’s easy to add shading with the markers. Simply wait until the first layer of colour is dry (a couple seconds) then go back and add more colour in the areas you want darker.

Stamp the sentiment from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set in Memento Black ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Use the Lakeside Framelits to die cut the sentiment. Use the larger of the tag framelits from this set to die cut the background in Basic Black cardstock.

Attach the sentiment layers together with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Use Multipurpose Liquid Gluewith a very light hand! – on the back of the vellum to attach the panel. I try to apply the glue to areas that have been coloured with marker. This liquid glue is great, because it dries clear!

These note cards come together very quickly, and the colouring is fun and quick to do. Your friends will love receiving these cards for any occasion. Just switch up the sentiment, add a stamp to the inside, and you’re done!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
