Happy Monday! I’m back to share progress I’ve made on my clock project. It’s not a lot right now, as I’m busy with other things at the same time.
ADDING TEXTURE
I decided that for the beach area, it needed some texture. To do this, I tinted some modeling paste, and then added some sand to it. Next, I applied it with a palette knife to the bottom of the clock.
This will give a base texture for the beach area. It will be covered with resin, and sand, and will look like a proper beach when it’s finished! This is what I call the ‘hot mess’ stage of creating! Have you ever noticed that some projects have an phase where you think it’s rubbish? Especially when there’s a lot of layers, or steps, to completing the project. It’s at this point when you have to keep the final result in mind, and play the long game.
CLOCK TICKS ADDED
I also secured the ticks in place with the proper adhesive! I chose the silver accessories for my clock. With the clock kits, you can choose from white, silver, gold or black. I prefer silver – just a personal choice, for this project.
The clock mechanism and hands will be the very last thing to be added. First, the layers of resin (at least 2) and sand have to be done, and cured.
CHECK OUT MY SHOP
Obviously, it will be at least a week or so before this clock will be available for purchase! However, I do have lots of other items in my Shop, ready for you to purchase. CLICK HERE to find your newest must-have! There’s lots of time to get that special something in time for Valentine’s Day – for someone special, or yourself.
This is going to be delightful when you’re finished! It’s perfect for a beach house!
Thanks, Buffy! I’m enjoying creating this beach theme clock. If nothing else, it’s an exercise in patience 🙂
