Welcome back! I’m here again, as promised, with more ideas based on the card sketches from Stampin’ Up!
In case you haven’t been following, Stampin’ Up! is having their Annual Designer Series Paper Sale for the month of October; buy 3 packs of select papers, and get one FREE!
Here are the packs that are included in the Sale:
And these are the card sketches that Stampin’ Up! gave, as starting off points in case you’re stumped on how to show off your DSP on your cards:
These sketches are super cute, and really easy to follow! In fact, when I was following the 2nd sketch, my card came together so quickly that I decided to make a 2nd card!
Now, the DSP I used isn’t included in the sale (as it’s a Specialty DSP, with 2 pages of foil designs), but the sketch is the same!
I started with a card base of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, measuring 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded. I cut the DSP at 4″ x 5 1/4″, and used my 2 1/2″ Circle Punch (now retired) to punch ou the circle on the right hand side. Since I hadn’t purchased the new Hallowe’en Scares stamp set, I simply used the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out this piece of patterned DSP, from the same pack!
I used Tombow liquid glue to first glue the large patterned panel of DSP onto the card front, then glued in the circle. I then used the Hallowe’en Scenes Edgelits Dies to die cut the 2 bats from Basic Black cardstock, and attached them using Stampin’ Dimensionals. See what I mean about a quick card?!
So, I decided for my second card I would do an ‘anytime’ card:
I used a set that I haven’t inked up since it first came out – the Painter’s Palette stamp set! I used the same dimensions as in the card above, except my card base is Very Vanilla cardstock, and used the Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card base in Peekaboo Peach ink, then attached the DSP using Stampin’ Dimensionals, to give it a more 3D look.
Using the Dimensionals also gave me enough room to slide the 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon under the DSP, and tie off a nice little bow. Easy peasy, and no need to add anything more to the front!
I hope that these cards have given you some inspiration for creating your own, and showing off the fabulous prints on our Designer Series Paper.
