MY FAVORITE THINGS SKETCH CHALLENGE
Hello there! Today I’m sharing a card that I created for the My Favorite Things sketch challenge! I think this is the first of their challenges I’ve entered. I decided to use the MFT Good Time To Wine stamp set with the coordinating wine glass die, for a fun birthday card.
MFTWSC421 WEEKLY SKETCH CHALLENGE
This is the sketch for this week’s challenge.
I decided to follow the sketch pretty much as shown; I just adjusted the placement of the focal area a bit, to fit the die cut glass.
BIRTHDAYS ARE A GOOD TIME TO WINE!
I don’t know about you, but I like to enjoy some wine with my birthday dinner! And, depending on your age, you might like to ‘whine’ while you wine! LOL I try to keep that kind of whining to a minimum – just have more wine!
CARD FRONT DETAILS
To create the focal area, take a piece of white cardstock, and blend on some distress inks. I used my Life Changing Blender Brushes, along with Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress inks. I then die cut a large circle, and a 1″ x 5″ strip, from the panel.
Next, die cut the wine glass and backing piece using the My Favorite Things Wine Glass die, and silver cardstock. Pop in the Wine Glass Shaker Pouch, and hold it in place with double-sided adhesive tape. Fill the shaker with sequins, and then attach the backing piece to hold them in place. I used some of my Starry Sky Mix sequins and Clear Droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.
Stamp the sentiment from the Good Time to Wine stamp set onto white cardstock in the Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. Be sure to use your MISTI or other stamp platform; with the Distress Ink you usually need a double inking to get a good solid stamp. Snip banner tails on the left edge of the sentiment strip.
LAYER IT ALL TOGETHER
Now you can put your card front together! Attach the blended strip to the left side of a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of aqua cardstock, using foam tape. Next, attach the blended circle with foam tape, and then the shaker glass on top of that.
Double your foam squares on the back of the sentiment, so that when you attach it over the glass stem, it lays flat. Add this panel to a card base with more foam tape. Finally, add some more sequins and droplets to the card front and sentiment.
There are so many fun sentiments, for all occasion, in this stamp set! You can also use the Wine Glass Die without the Shaker Pouches.

That shaker pouch is such fun, isn’t it, Buffy? I really gives the sequins room to shake! Glad you like my take on the sketch 🙂
