Well, they say all good things must come to an end. And so this is my Paper Craft Crew Design Team farewell! Looking back, I joined the team at the invitation of Pam Staples, the coordinator in May of 2015. It’s been almost 5 years! Just as a guess-timate, that means I’ve shared over 200 cards, just as part of this team over that time. That’s a lot of cards – and a lot of fun! So for this week’s challenge, my final as part of the Design Team, I decided to incorporate a celebration theme.
PCC368 SKETCH CHALLENGE
First, let’s look at the challenge. Pam has created a sketch for us to work from – have a look.
As always, you can change the orientation of the card from portrait to landscape. You can also change the shapes that are in the sketch. As long as your project is easily recognizable as the sketch layout, you’re good to go!
CELEBRATE WITH CHAMPAGNE
Every great celebration should include champagne! I’ve decided that recently; it’s like – don’t wait for a ‘special occasion’ to use the good china. Or wear your good dress. Now, I’m not recommending that you go do a Tough Mudder race in your Louboutin’s ! Just to enjoy the good things in life, while you can appreciate them.
You see, rather than be sad that I’m stepping away from being on the Design Team, I’m celebrating the wonderful people I’ve worked with, and the experience I’ve gained!
CARD DETAILS
Other than changing a couple of minor things, I stayed with the sketch.
On a piece of white cardstock, stamp the champagne bottle and party hat images from the Pretty Pink Posh Happy New Year stamp set in Memento Ink. Just because the stamp set refers to New Year, doesn’t mean you can’t use it for other celebrations!
Choose your favourite alcohol markers to colour the images. I chose a combination of Copic and Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. For the bottle, YG07 Acid Green and YG25 Celadon Green. The labels are coloured with BG09 Blue Green and Y28 Lionet Gold. For the cork and champagne, Cream, Sand and Natural Brown Illustrator markers are used. The party hat is coloured with BG09 Blue Green and G09 Veronese Green.
When the colouring is done, use the matching Happy New Year dies to die cut the images. Cut a 2 1/2″ square from gold patterned paper, and a banner strip from gold foil paper. Create your card base from dark blue/green, and attach a panel on top of bright green. Attach the die cuts with foam tape or foam squares.
Finish off the card front with a bow made from gold twine, and add some gold sequins.
Add some highlights on the bottle and hat with a white gel pen.

If you’ve been joining me these years just for the Paper Craft Crew challenges, I hope that you might stay around, and see what else I’m up to! In any event, I hope that you’ll continue to take part in the challenges, and have fun creating!
