…is coming!!  Yeah!!  I received an email on Thursday from Stampin' Up! that my Paper Pumpkin is on it's way!

Wait – you don't remember what My Paper Pumpkin is?  Well, it's a new monthly subscription that Stampin' Up! is offering; you sign up, and at the 15th of the month they ship you a kit which includes – well, actually it could be almost anything, because each month is a surprise!  We do all know what is included in the first kit, though – because everyone will receive the same 1st kit – called the Welcome Kit.  It includes a set of card bases, plus embellishments, ink pad, stamp and clear mount block, and includes instructions on how to build your very own cards!  (of course, following the instructions is optional – you are a creative genius, of course!)

Here's what the box will look like when you receive it

And here's a picture of the Welcome Kit – what's inside the box!

The Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who attended the Leadership convention a few months ago received preview kits of the Paper Pumpkin; here's what one demo did in putting her cards together.

Don't they look great!!  Best part is, you can honestly tell your friends & family that you DID make the cards yourself, and they will be amazed and thrilled at how talented you are! 🙂

So, as soon as I get my kit I will take pictures to share with  you!  If you'd like to order your own kit, just go directly to www.mypaperpumpkin.com fill out your information, and please be sure to SELECT ME AS YOUR DEMONSTRATOR – Deborah Smart, Burnaby, B.C.

If you sign up now, your kit will ship on April 15th – you'll receive an email when it ships.  Oh yes – another GREAT thing about Paper Pumpkin – if you are going away, or just want to take a break, you can simply reset your quantity to '0', for each month you don't want to receive it, and when you're ready to get back to creating, just reset your quantity back to '1'!  No need to cancel and re-sign up (in fact, if you do cancel, then resign up, you will receive the Welcome Kit again – it won't recognize that you've had it already).

Now, I'd like to share a card I did a while back, at one of my card classes, but I just realized I've never shared it here!

I love the colour in this card – Midnight Muse – and the flower is from the 'Blooming with Kindness' set.

The technique I used to colour the background is called 'Reverse Masking', where I cut out the frame shape with the Labels Collection Framelits, set aside the shape, and using the outline, sponged in the Midnight Muse ink using a sponge dauber.  I started at the outside, and gradually lightened the colour towards the centre, to give some depth to the background.  Then I stamped the flower stamp just to one side, again in Midnight Muse.  The ribbon underneath the sentiment (from the retired 'Heard from the Heart' set) is Midnight Muse, then I added a pearl in each top corner.  All of this is on aWhisper White card stock panel, on top of a Midnight Muse base.

I hope you've enjoyed spending some time here with me tonight; I appreciate the company!  I also hope you've had a Happy St. Patrick's Day – whether you're Irish or not!

Until next time – Happy Stampin'!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
