Hello stamping friends! Here we are, another Monday. We’re having a mini heat wave here in B.C.; records are being broken all over the province – and it’s not even officially summer yet! I’ve been trying to stay cool while stamping, but you know, fans and paper don’t go well together – not if you want the paper to stay in a certain spot! 🙂
Today I thought I’d show you a quick little fun fold that we did last month in Technique Club; it’s called the Pinwheel fold, for obvious reasons, as you’ll see:
Isn’t that cute?! We did use some retired Designer Series Paper to make this, but you can use any design you like. The great thing about our DSP is that the 2 sided patterns are perfect for this type of fold. This picture (above) shows the card closed, with the belly-band on it. I was sorry to see that the Big Day stamp set wasn’t carried over into the new catalogue; it’s such a fun set. The sentiment was stamped first in Calypso Coral onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, then punch out using the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. On a scrap piece of Whisper White, we stamped the word ‘celebrate’ a second time, this time in Pool Party, then hand-cut it and layered it on top of the stamped word, using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
This next picture shows you how the pinwheel fold looks, without the belly-band on:
It’s a very cute & easy fold, that starts with an 8″ square piece of DSP, and uses the Diagonal Scoring Plate for the Simply Scored.
Here is how we decorated the inside:
I’m going to miss this stamp set – but there’s lots of great new ones to choose from in the new catalogue! 🙂
If you’re in the area (Lower Mainland of B.C.) and would like to join the Technique Club & learn to do fancy folds like this, plus much more, we’d love to have you join! We meet on the last Friday of each month from 7:00 – 9:00 pm, and we always have lots of fun! Just give me a call at 604.298.0472 or email me at debsmart@shaw.ca for more details, or to reserve your spot.
Until next time – happy stamping!
