Welcome back to another fun sketch challenge with the Paper Craft Crew!
I am really enjoying seeing the amazing cards that you make for each challenge. I know you’ll knock it out of the park with this one, too.
Here is Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge 232:
This sketch challenge offers a lot of challenges – use of whitespace, and different elements and embellishment opportunities.
Here is my card:
The Supplies:
Cardstock: Sweet Sugarplum, Whisper White and new Sale-A-Bration 6″x6″ Glimmer Paper in Mint Macaron
Designer Paper: Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper
Stamp Sets: Special Reason, Avant Garden
Inks: Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron
Tools: Stylish Stems Framelits Dies, Big Shot, Precision Plate
Adhesives: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals
The How-To:
Start with a card base of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, and add a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of patterned paper from the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper, using Multipurpose Glue.
Cut the next panels as follows:
- Sweet Sugarplum 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″
- Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper 2 1/2″ x 4″
- Whisper White 2 7/8″ x 3 7/8″
Use the Stylish Stems Framelits Die and the Big Shot to die cut the medium flower into the bottom left and top right corners of the Whisper White panel.
Ink up the dots image stamp from the Avant Garden stamp set first with Mint Macaron ink, then Sweet Sugarplum ink, and stamp randomly across the Whisper White panel.
Layer the 3 panels on top of each other, using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On a small piece of Whisper White, stamp the sentiment from the Special Reason stamp set, using Sweet Sugarplum ink. Use the Stylish Stems Framelits and Big Shot to die cut the sentiment, and the layer beneath it in Sweet Sugarplum cardstock.
Next, die cut 5 of the small leaves from the Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper. Assemble and attach the sentiment and leaves, as shown in the picture.
In the top left corner, tie a bow with the retired Gold Cording Trim, and attach it underneath the 2 leaves with Mini Glue Dots.
The Inside Scoop:
You also want to stamp and decorate the inside of your card, too.
I really like the coordinating sentiments in this stamp set. Since I had already used a different one for the outside, I combined these 2 for the inside of the card. I also don’t like to waste pretty die cut flowers, so I attached a flower that I had die cut from a different project! 🙂
Purchase the Special Reason stamp set together with the Stylish Stems Framelits, and you’ll save 10% off the combined price!
I’d love to hear what you think of this card, and the new Sale-A-Bration Glimmer Paper and other stamps that are available now! Leave me a message on this post 🙂
Now, you’ll want to check out what the rest of the Design Team have created for this sketch challenge – they’re amazing! Click on the Paper Craft Crew Blog, then link up your own card for the challenge.
