NEW YEAR, NEW DIRECTION
Hello, stamping friend! You may have noticed some changes happening on my posts lately. Yes, they are indicative of a change that I’m making. To me, it’s a big change, but at the same time, not so much. After much thought and many sleepless nights, I have decided to drop my demonstratorship with Stampin’ Up! It’s a big change for me, because I’ve been a SU! demonstrator for over 7 years now. Although, it’s not such a big change, because I will still be paper crafting, creating cards, and sharing with you. I decided that with a New Year, a New Direction would be a good way to start.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU?
Well, as I said, I’ll still be creating with inks, stamps, and paper. I’ll just be doing it with products other than Stampin’ Up! Choosing other brands will allow me to ‘branch out’ my creativity, and use new mediums as well. I’m looking forward to trying out watercolouring with actual paints!, and using alcohol inks, and different types of papers for my projects. Also, after using 1 brand for 7 years things can start to feel ‘stale’, so I’m hoping that using new brands with different designers will help my projects feel fresh again!
WANT TO ORDER THE PRODUCTS I’LL BE USING?
That’s awesome! I hope you’ll be as excited as me with the new products, and I’ll be happy if you’d like to order them for yourself. I’ve set up ‘affiliate’ links with several different companies that either produce their own products, or sell ranges of products from lots of different makers.
As always, for each project I make I’ll be sharing the list of products that I used. Whenever possible, I’ll share the affiliate links for those products. You’ll see the product icons at the bottom of each post. You can click on those icons/images, and be taken directly to the company that I have linked with that sells it. On some products, you may notice that several companies are listed. You can choose which one you prefer to shop with; I like to let you know that you have a choice! And the choice is always yours, where you like to shop. The affiliate link simply means that I receive a small percentage of your purchase, at no extra cost to you. Just like I used to receive a percentage of any Stampin’ Up! order you placed with me – at no extra cost to you.
The biggest difference with the affiliate links is that it doesn’t matter that I live in Canada and you live somewhere else – regardless of where you live, you can use these links!! There’s no country restriction to where I can sell, or what you can buy. Woohoo!! More choices for everyone! That’s a big win, in my books, and I hope it will help you with your shopping.
FIND OUT WHERE I SHOP
I’m creating a new page in my menu (at the very top of the page) called Where I Shop. I’ll provide my affiliate links to the stores where I shop, without having links to specific items. You can click those store links, and go to the ‘general’ menu for that online store. So, you don’t have to wait for me to share a particular project or item in a post, for you to go shopping there! Be assured that I have shopped myself at these stores, and am happy with both the products and the service received. I would never steer you wrong, to someplace I don’t like or for products I don’t personally like. Remember – everyone has different tastes & preferences. Also be sure to check out the shipping information when you’re placing an order – each company may have different timing and pricing on that service.
WHEN DOES THIS CHANGE HAPPEN?
Well, my demonstratorship ‘officially’ ends on Monday January 7th – that’s the last day you’ll be able to shop in my online store. Until then, you can still shop with me. However, you can shop NOW at the affiliate stores I have linked! There’s no time restriction on those!
THANK YOU!!
I know that this is a big change, and I hope that you’ll continue to read my blog posts, subscribe to my newsletter, and follow me on social media. I understand if you are ‘all SU!’ and don’t want to continue, but I do hope that you’ll still find inspiration in my projects. Thank you for your support over these past 7 plus years; I hope that we’ll continue on for at least another 7!
Blessings to you, Deborah! I love what you do and hope you will continue to share with us. Go for it!

Thanks so much for your support and friendship, Gail! I appreciate you 🙂 ♥
Good for you Deb. Following your heart is always a good thing!
Thank you for your kind support, Jackie! I appreciate it, and your friendship.
II’ll definitely be continuing to follow you… I’m not SU exclusive. And I’ve learned, after all this time stamping, how to take inspiration from a card even if I don’t own the products. One thing I’d appreciate, as a fellow Canadian, is a post about your affiliate links.. basically, how do you manage to get good deals on shipping if you order from the US? And are there good places to order stamping supplies from Canada if I want something my local stamp store doesn’t carry?
Happy New Year!
Thanks so much for your continued support, ‘cycworker’! It’s so true – you can use the layout of a card to create your own, without having to use the identical products. I’ll email you privately to answer your other questions about shipping & affiliate links!
