What fun we had this past weekend at the Christmas Stamp a Stack! 🙂   It was fun, and busy; Friday night was a group of 4 ladies, each doing 10 cards; and another group of 4 different ladies on Saturday morning, each doing the same 10 cards.  Of course, each group had some snacks to sustain their energy; coffee & goodies on Friday night, and some mini quiche and veggies with coffee/water on Saturday.  Yumm!

Everyone enjoyed doing different techniques; dry embossing, cutting with the Big Shot and Frameltis, heat embossing, paper piecing – and the cards all turned out wonderfully!

It was such a fun & busy time that I forgot to take pictures of the groups! 🙁   Silly me!  I did remember to take pictures of my sample cards, though – so I can share those with  you.

Here's what we did for the Stamp a Stack:

I just love the Serene Silhouettes stamp set!  It really does look so peaceful in Basic Grey and Cherry Cobbler.

The second card is the Snow Flurry embossing Folder used on Old Olive card stock; the letters for 'JOY' were stamped with the Morning Post Alphabet set, and layered on top of Real Red ribbon.

Don't you just love this Santa card (below)?  It's just so jolly!  I used Real Red card stock, embossing with the Stripes embossing folder.  Santa's beard is 1/2 of the largest Apothecary Accents Framelit, embossed with Perfect Polka Dots, and stamped with Tags 4 You stamp.  His belt buckle is punched from Brushed Silver card stock, using the Curly Label punch, and highlights given to his buttons with the uniball Signo White Gel Pen.

The Joyful Christmas stamp set is perfect for the holidays – used here with a 'non-traditional' Rich Razzleberry ink.  Paired with Always Artichoke, I think it looks wonderful!

Doesn't Dasher look – well, dashing! – embossed in silver?! Paired with Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo, and set off with Winter Frost Designer Series paper, this card is perfect for Christmas.

Speaking of perfect – what about our little Frosty, from this month's "Best of Snow" stamp set?  I couldn't resist using some retired Frostwood Lodge DSP; mixing the old with the new – after all, that's what the 'Best of' sets are all about, right?  The Let it Snow sentiment stamp is also from the Best of Snow set; the Cherry Cobbler ribbon is new in the Holiday catalogue, layered with Whisper White satin ribbon (retired).

Well, even Mrs. Claus is in on the celebrations this year!  I used the retired Dress Up Framelit to cut the dress; it looks very festive in Real Red on top of Whisper White.

This card reminds me of Christmas cookies and candies!  Cookies of course because of the cute gingerbread men (retired Scentsational Season stamp set & matching framelits), and the striped Cherry Cobbler of the Season of Style Paper Pack.  The 'Be Merry' stamp is one of the current single stamps – and it's on sale right now, in the Holiday Sale! (woot!!)

I am still in love with the Festive Flurries stamp set and matching Framelits; it makes creating a classic winter card just so easy!  And I'm so glad that the Northern Flurry embossing folder is still with us; it was my very first embossing folder that I purchased when I joined Stampin' Up!

Here is the fun & frivolity of the Elf Shoes!!  Many demonstrators have done these, so I thank them for sharing their creativity, and letting me put my little 'spin' on them.  They certainly were a hit at the Stamp a Stack 🙂

This is what part of the set-up looked like; everyone worked on assembling their cards in the dining room; this table was in the living room (you can see a random dog toy under the table!).  Each card had it's own box, and in the box was enough kits for each person, including the stamp set, punch, embellishments, framelit, etc that they needed to complete the card, except for inks & adhesives, which were on the dining table for everyone to use (some cards shared colours used).

I'd really like to say 'thank you' to all my wonderful clients who came and had fun, shared laughs and enjoyed themselves – I really do love having them here!  Perhaps we'll see you next year?

Before I go – a reminder that the Stampin' Up! Holiday Sale is still going strong – until December 2nd only – so get your orders in now, before it's too late!  Make sure you take advantage of the savings – from 20% – 40% OFF!!  No 'bah-humbug' about that!

To place your order – or have your favourite 'Santa' order for you! – just give me a call at 604.298.0472, or send me an email at debsmart@shaw.ca and I'll take care of it for you.  Or, if you're up late and want to order while in your jammies, just click on my name below, to go direct to my store.  Easy peasy 🙂

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
