Paper Craft Crew DT Badge

How nice to see you again, friend!  I’m so glad that you decided to spend a few minutes with me, and have a look at this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge!

Here’s what we’re working with this week:

This is my card:

I started by die cutting a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the retired Labels Framelits (I don’t  yet have the Lots of Labels Framelits – ssshhh!), then I stamped the sentiment from the Going Global stamp set in the bottom middle,  first in Versamark ink, then in Archival Black ink.  I immediately covered it with Clear Embossing Powder, then heat set it.

Next, I took my World Traveler Embossing Folder, and swiped my Lost Lagoon ink pad over the raised side, to colour the water.  I placed my die cut piece of Very Vanilla inside, closed it and ran it through the Big Shot.  This is an awesome way of adding colour quickly to your embossed backgrounds!

I cut a strip each of Basic Black and Lost Lagoon cardstock, and layered them behind the embossed piece.  These were then layered onto a panel of Going Places Designer Series Paper, then onto a panel of Basic Black cardstock.  The entire card front was then layered onto the card base of Lost Lagoon cardstock.

The ribbon and ribbon slider I added to the front are both *long* retired; the ribbon was actually from the Hallowe’en Banner kit 2 years ago; I don’t remember how old the ribbon sliders are!  (just because it’s old, doesn’t mean you have to throw it out! )

This card was fairly quick and easy to put together; starting with a sketch makes it easier, of course!  I hope you’ll join in with this week’s challenge; just head over to the Paper Craft Crew page to see what the rest of the Design Team has created, then once  you have your card ready, link up!  You just may be one of our Top Picks!

Until next time – happy stamping!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
