Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge

Hello stamping friend, and welcome to this week’s Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge!

PCC259 Inspiration Challenge:

Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge

How’s this for a fun, creative challenge?  You can take your inspiration from the umbrellas, or the colours, or things hanging or floating – whatever stirs your imagination!  I decided to go with the colours and ‘floating’, and came up with this card.

I haven’t used this set in a while! It’s the Lift Me Up stamp set paired with the Up & Away Thinlits Dies. Unfortunately you can’t ‘bundle’ them any more for a discount, but you can still purchase both the stamps and dies!

For the hot air balloon colours, I used Berry Burst, Powder Pink, Calypso Coral and Pool Party. The sentiment is stamped in Berry Burst ink; the cardstock colours are Whisper White, Basic Black and Berry Burst.

On the 3 3/4″ x 5″ panel of Whisper White, I stamped the small balloons, masking off some to make it appear that some were behind others.  Masking off is quite easy.  I used the Up & Away Thinlits to die cut the small and large balloons from copy paper, and laid the die cut over the stamped balloons that I wanted to stamp ‘behind’.  After stamping, simply remove the mask!

The large hot air balloon was die cut after stamping, using the Up & Away Thinlits with the Big Shot, and layered over the smaller balloons with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  After stamping the sentiment in Berry Burst ink, I punched it out using the new Everyday Label Punch. To create the background layer behind the sentiment, I simply punched another piece from Berry Burst cardstock, snipped it in half, and attached it in back with Dimensionals.

To finish it off, I added some Glitter Enamel Dots to the sentiment, and the top right corner of the panel.  I then layered this panel onto a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of Basic Black cardstock with Dimensionals again, and used the Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach it to the Berry Burst cardstock base.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
