Wow, these challenges just keep on comin’!  🙂  I’m back with another card made for the Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge #132.  (Challenge #131 is still open for voting – if you’d like  to vote for my last card, it’s #2; I ‘flipped’ the design upside down (totally legit-we’re allowed to do that!)  for it to suit the set I used.  You can click HERE to vote!

Here’s what challenge #131 card looks like, so you know you’re voting for the right one!

PCCCS131 card

For this new challenge, we were given another card sketch – here it is:

Here is my interpretation of the sketch:

pcccs132 my card

I had just received my new order from Stampin’ Up! and I just HAD to try out the new Colourbox Chalk Inks and the Chalkboard paper.

Using the stamp set Everything Eleanor, I stamped the flowers on the Chalkboard paper in Rose Coral, and hand-cut them.  I then stamped the label shape in Aquamarine onto Whisper White card stock, and hand cut that out.  Doesn’t it look amazing on the white?!  On the Whisper White panel, I stamped the flourish in Rose Coral chalk ink, then using the Butterfly Basics set, stamped the border stamp in Yellow Citrus Chalk ink.  I think that all of the colours look amazing on Whisper White, and the have a beautiful, smooth feeling to them.  I was impatient to put my card together, so I used my Heat Tool to ‘set’ the ink.  Since it’s consistency is heavier than our classic ink – more like a craft ink – you do have to allow a bit of drying time.

I layered the Whisper White panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals onto a card base of Soft Sky, after rounding the left corners using the Project Life Corner punch.

I cut off the top 1/3 of a Doily, and layered it underneath the Aquamarine label shape.  I used the Butterfly Basics ‘Happy Birthday’ stamp to stamp on top of both the label & doily in Memento Black ink, and attached the flowers using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  To finish off the card, in place of a bow I stamped & hand cut the smallest butterfly from the Butterfly Basics set, and added 3 Candy Dots.

So that’s my latest challenge card; I hope you like it, and are enjoying my new creative ‘bent’!

This weekend I’m working on something really special – my youngest son’s 17th Birthday! 🙂  His big day isn’t actually until next Tuesday, but we’re doing the family dinner this weekend.  I am also working on projects for our upcoming Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop, which is next Thursday, Feb. 26th.  I hope you’ll be back for it – we have a new participant; I’m proud to call her a friend, and she’s also a Canadian from here in B.C. – Penny Hanuszuk!  Penny is incredibly creative, and we’re so pleased that she’ll be joining us – you can check out her blog HERE .  Please tell her I sent you, and leave her a little ‘love’ in the comment section 🙂

Remember to get your Sale-a-bration orders in – and remember that for every order that includes the Balloon Bash stamp set and the Birthday Bash DSP, I’ll give you FREE shipping* (up to $10).  Make it worth your while – if your order is $60 pre-tax/shipping, you’ll  get 1 FREE SAB PRODUCT, PLUS I’LL PAY YOUR SHIPPING!  Really – it’s a great deal! 🙂  But my free shipping offer is only thru next Tuesday, Feb. 24th – so ORDER NOW!  *Stampin’ Up! regulations means that your order has to originate in, and be shipped within Canada.*

Until next time – happy shopping & stamping! 🙂

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
